Prediction Blog: Henry Stickmin vs Markiplier

"Your life is a result of the choices you make. If you don’t like your life, start making better choices." - Zig Ziglar

Henry Stickmin, the thieving stickman.

Markiplier, the thieving... man

The grand heist. What gets the blood pumping more than watching our thieving protagonist crawling through vents, avoiding lasers, and outsmarting guards? Well, things certainly get more intense when we're the one determining their paths.

And when those paths are filled with ridiculous weapons, unfathomable adventures, and a pair of foolish thieves, who knows what'll happen? Today, two master(?) criminals sneak into the arena, but only one will be able to snatch a victory. Who will it be? Let's find out!

Before we begin...

Oooooooh boy! Choose Your Own Adventure characters with no mainline canon! My favourite! There's a little bit to cover before we move on to the rundowns, so lets get it out of the way.

Let's start with Henry. Due to the nature of his series'.... questionable canonical timeline, I'm giving him access to every single tool and weapon he has ever used... on one condition. He must have either accessed it by himself, or kept it long enough to be considered somewhat standard. All this really means is that he's not getting access to anything he steals from someone else, only uses once, and then loses immediately. Also, no Cyborg Henry. Sorry not sorry, but that's non-standard as hell, even for these two.

It... really doesn't matter in the long run though, basically all of his important stuff got included anyways.

As for Mark, the main focus will be on his three primary Choose Your Own Adventure series: A Date With MarkiplierA Heist With Markiplier, and In space With Markiplier

Like Henry, his equipment and arsenal will consist of things that can somewhat reasonably be given to him, excluding one-off stuff. There's less of that for Mark anyways so you don't have to worry about it.

(I guess I should also mention that... this is solely examining Markiplier as a fictional character, as he is in-universe. Anything that focuses on the actual person is included from a place of admiration. I love Mark, and I wouldn't make this blog if I didn't respect him as a content creator and person so much.)

Background

Henry Stickmin

"Oops.... uh oh."

Thief. Criminal. Scumbag. Stick. Man. Henry Stickmin is a man of few words and even fewer dimensions, but his true calling in life is an easy one to discover. He's a kleptomaniac through and through. There's not much more to Henry's life or him as a person than the fact that he just really enjoys stealing valuables, wether it being simple bank money or giant gemstones, and that behaviour has gotten him involved in all sorts of misadventures that just keep evolving to more and more ridiculous degrees. But no matter what choices are ahead of him, Henry's sheer stick-headed attitude will always get him through them... well, at least like 30% of the time.

Markiplier

"You do you, and I'll do me, and we won't do each other... probably."

Hey, you're ready, right? Watch synchronised, grapple gun loaded, crayon map drawn? You're about to aid Markiplier in a break-in at the musem, remember? But who is Markiplier? Well, not much is known about his past, other than the fact that a man named Mark Edward Fischbach one day uploaded a video of himself playing Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and thus, a legend was started. Following a long rise to stardom, Mark would create a couple of web original series, consisting of dates, space adventures, and of course... a heist. So strap in, because on a Heist with Markiplier, you'll be anything but bored.

Equipment

Henry Stickmin

Teleporter

If you've played these games, you know what this thing is about. The aptly named Teleporter is a device that is capable of warping the user anywhere, wether it be to other buildings, alien planets, or even separate dimensions entirely. The catch? It sucks. Every single time Henry has used it, it has resulted in his demise in some way... well, besides the time he broke it, where it probably got him to the right place solely out of sheer dumb luck.

Scooter

Henry's personal ride of choice, his trusty scooter has aided him in numerous of his escapades. It's a scooter, of course, powered by a motor that allows him to drive it at the same speed as a car or, if he feels like it, use it as a ramming weapon to crash into foes.

It also comes equipped with various extra features:
  • Space Mode: Henry somehow outfitted his scooter with the ability to travel through space. Neat.
  • Mosquito Mode: The scooter can transform into a small spaceship with a needle sticking out, capable of ramming into walls and ejecting Henry on the other side.
  • Lightspeed Mode: The scooter can move at the speed of light, flying out of Henry's grip.
  • Basket: Can hold items. As Long as they're light enough.
  • Tow Cable: It's a cable that tows things.
  • Battering Ram: A great tool for busting down walls in theory, too heavy for the scooter to remain stabile in practice.
  • Drill: it's a drill! If it gets stuck in what you're trying to drill, you're going for a spin!
  • Spiked Wheels: Allows the scooter to ride up surfaces, scaling walls.

Cannon Ball

A durable plastic ball that Henry recieved while working with the Government, blasting him out of a cannon in order to infiltrate the Toppat Airship. It can easily withstand busting through the Airship windows, and also comes equipped with a number of extra features.
  • Chair: A motorised chair that Henry can activate in order to pilot the cannon ball like a Sonic spin dash. Has an eject feature, as is obligatory for all chairs.
  • Thrusters: He do be flying with them.
  • Booster: Increases the cannon ball's speed so highly that Henry can't control it.
  • Laser: Shoots a massive laser (watch out for the recoil)
  • Spiked Ball: Encases the cannon ball in a metal sheath with pointy spikes for defence. Not tough enough to survive a big boulder.

Dinghy

An inflatable raft that Henry stole from the Complex, used for his epic unseen escape.

Tank

"Wait, you have a tank???" - Ellie

Henry's second favourite vehicle of choice, a tank he stole from the Toppat Clan. Naturally, it is a tank, meaning it can crush most smaller vehicles beneath its weight and fire powerful shots capable of levelling cars and causing rockslides.

Pistol

Wether recieved from the Government or stolen from the Complex, Henry is a natural when it comes to firearms, and is more than skilled with using pistols and other handguns.

Tranqualizer Gun

For when Henry doesn't want to kill, just drug. (I was originally gonna make one of several jokes here, but I'm better than that)

Assault Rifle

For when a pistol just isn't enough. Henry can't aim for shit with it, even with a targeting system.

Sniper Rifle

For when foes are just thaaaaaaat far away

Pew Pew Gun

Stolen from the Toppat Clan space station armory, this deadly zapper is one of Henry's most potent firearms, capable of one-shotting any enemy he comes across. It doesn't appear to fire bullets, meaning no aim or ammo conservation is required.

Rocket Launcher

Launches rockets

Cannon

That does not seem safe

(Suprise suprise, it wasn't)

Grenade

Throwable explosive. Henry sucks at aiming with it.

Sticky Grenade

Throwable explosive. Provided it doesn't get stuck on your hand

C4

Deployable explosive. Can blast through airship hulls.

Acid

A bottle of potent acid that, considering the context it was used in, can likely eat through solid steel. Can also eat through your legs, as Henry discovered the hard way.

Sword

Henry is also a surprisingly good swordsman, capable of taking out foes in a single attack with most blades.

Hot Knife

A knife so hot it can allegedly cut through any material! Henry dropped it before he could put it to use.

Ninja Star

Henry once tried using a Ninja Star.

He missed.

Chainsaw

It sure is

Shovel

The most basic of digging tools, Henry can use a shovel to tunnel through the earth.

Yes, that's all he does with it. What did you expect, he's not Shovel Knight.

Drill

For when a shovel isn't enough to break through tougher materials, Henry busts out this oversized drill! It's... it's a drill... it drills- what else do you want me to say??

Laser Drill

I'd like for the game to explain exactly how this is a drill in literally any way.

Anyways yeah it cuts things.

Metal Fist

A summonable metal fist that can encase Henry's hands in order to drastically boost his striking power. Not enough to smash through doors tough (He totally could have if he transformed into a rhino).

Succpack

(Yes it's actually spelled that way)

A powerful vacuum cleaner backpack that is capable of holding an immense amount of items, such as the Toppat base's entire stash of valuables, weapons, and vehicles.

Shell

A surprisingly durable turtle shell that can be used as a hard-hitting projectil- what do you mean he put it on his head?

Leaf

A magical leaf that gives Henry a pair of tanooki ears and a tail, granting him flight. Makes sense.

Boomerang

Can be thrown at foes to make them dizzy. Don't forget that it always returns to sender tough. You know, like Henry did. Have you gotten the gist of what Henry's section is gonna be like yet?

Bubble Shield

A deployable barrier that enemies and attacks can't pass through, shielding Henry from foes. May result in him getting stuck if said foe simply waits him out.

Magic Hat

A magical headpiece that Henry can use as a portal, allowing him to exit out of any other identical hat. That's... situational.

Jet Boots

A pair of metal boots with jet boosters attached. Being made of metal, they're too heavy to actually fly.

Anti-Gravity Cap

A hat that inverts your personal gravity. Have fun going to space!

Power Armor

A battlegear that Henry can equip in order to boost his strength and speed several times over, allowing him to bend metal, catch missiles, and easily survive several story height level falls.

Nano-Suit

I guess he just... has this on his person at all times? This thin yet powerful suit made out of nanometal is one of Henry's overall most powerful tools, capable of fighting one on one with the cyborg enhanced Right Hand Man. Can't withstand atmospheric re-entry, tough

As is customary, it has a few add-ons:
  • Missiles: Fires a set of small missiles from the wrist. If Henry forgets to release them, they'll carry him with them to his certain doom.
  • Positron Reflector: Activates a reflective barrier as long as Henry stays still, bouncing back any projectile that comes his way. Physical attacks can still hit him tough.
  • Max Gravity: The boots are capable of generating a gravitational push strong enough to shatter one of the Toppat Clan space station's solar panels and tilt the whole thing over.

Metal Hat

A piece of headwear that Henry can equip in order to turn his body into metal, making him strong enough to bust down metal doors and completely bulletproof for a few seconds.

Adrenaline

Can be injected in order to gain a roughly three second long physical boost. Better make those three seconds count, mate.

NrG Drink

An energy drink with such extreme amounts of sugar that it completely stops the flow of time from his perspective, and somehow makes him strong enough to bend metal with a finger. Unfortunately, once the effect wears off, Henry will die from a heart attack.

Joy Buzzer

A palm-worn device that can shut down large electronics. Can also likely electrocute people.

Expanding Foam

So it's foam but it like

It

It expands

Stretch Chewies

Gumo Gumo if you eat these you get reallllll stretchy! Keep away from moving gears.

Sandwich

Makes Henry BIG and MUSCULAR... for like 10 seconds

Invisibility Pill

Turns Henry invisible.

It's really that simple.

Cookie

A magical biscuit that increases Henry's size over tenfold. This one is actually not that bad, since the only reason it killed him was because he ended up crushed to death in the too small prison cell. In a more open area, it's probably very useful.

Duplicatorange

The last of Henry's unique consumables, the Duplicatorange will do what it's name implies, and create a perfect duplicate of Henry once ingested. The game doesn't wanna follow a Henry clone, but that logically shouldn't impact any actual combat scenarios.

Clawpack

A backpack with a claw inside that's used to carry heavy objects. The claw hates Henry.

Grapple Gun

Markiplier also has one of these

Longshot

It's like a grapple gun, but it only latches onto wood, meaning it will bounce off of any other surfaces it hits.

Sonic Pulse

Produces a sound so loud it popped Henry's head like a balloon!

Wait no that's not a good thing

Force Gun

Shoots out a concussive force to send targets flying

Gravity Manipulator

It's a gun

That let's you

Wait for it

Control gravity (it shoots tractor beams)

G-Inverter

It inverts gravity.

Shrink Ray

A blaster that Henry can use to shrink anything he shoots. Even includes himself. Worms think tiny stickmen taste good.

Shrink n' Grow

A nifty little gadget Henry can place on any object to shrink them pocket-sized. The opposite version is the Grow n' Shrink, which does exactly what you'd think.

Leafmöde

Hey, did you know that "Ö" is actually a Swedish letter? More interestingly, it's the final letter of our alphabet, so I've always been kinda confused about why Leafmöde is named that. It's a variation of "Leafmode", sure, but its weird because "möde" doesn't actually mean anything, so I'm not sure exactly what the gig is.

Oh right, it turns things into a leaf

Melt Ray

I'll give you three guesses as to what it does

That's right! It melts once you activate it! You expected it to melt other things? Nah, that's silly.

Bug Juice

You can read the label, can't you? Once injected into you, the Bug Juice will transform you into a bug, allowing you to fly and eavesdrop undetected... for the 7 seconds it lasts.

Wormhole Rifle

A firearm capable of generating portals- I mean uh, wormholes that are connected to each other, making Henry capable of using them for quick travel.

Liquidificator

Turns Henry into liquid, killing him instantly.

Opacitator

Turns Henry intangible, causing him to fall into the Earth core and disintegrate.

Infini³

An interdimensional storage device that is capable of holding extreme amounts of items. Unfortunately, it will instantly eject its contents if it becomes full, and since Henry bough it used, he ended up being crushed by an oceanliner.

Lagswitch

A device that can lag reality itself for a few seconds, making Henry's moves harder to track as his opponents will see him lagging out instead.

Transdimensionalizer

A device that can alter reality into other dimensions, such as the first dimension, which Henry got stuck in since vertical movement doesn't exist anymore.

Downgrader

A device that will instantly "downgrade" the world, turning it into a rough sketch. Unfortunately, it's irreversable, as any weapons and the item itself is now reduced to simple dots and lines, and thus unusable.

Shadozer

Turns Henry into a shadow, letting him travel across the ground unseen, with the downside that any shadow that passes over him will kill him. This one isn't that great.

Swapper

Allows Henry to swap locations with whoever he aims it at.

Paperizor

A strange object that can turn Henry into a piece of paper for a few seconds, allowing him to do things like sliding under doors. Surprisingly, he'll return to normal with no sideffects after a while.

Tool Gun

Allows Henry to hack the game, granting him flight and noclip... at least until he's literally banned from the game (Which in this context means.... God removed him from reality? Maybe? I guess?)

CorrupTick

Oh my god why do you have this

Okay, so the CorrupTick is... hear me out here

The CorrupTick is a tick that is capable of altering the very reality of the game itself, causing it to first crash, then restart with numerous animation errors and plot imbalances, and then ultimately reload itself back into its original state. How? Why? Is this useful for Henry in literally any way?

Idk why are you looking at me

Time Machine

It's a time machine that works... surprisingly effectively. After Henry and Ellie were caught by the Toppat Bukowski brothers, Henry used the time machine to go back and make it so they never entered the force, before returning back lickity split. This implies that Henry can use it to alter the past with no negative consequences or alterations to the timeline that affects him or the world specifically. That or he just got lucky. It is Henry after all.

Load / Save State

A nifty device capable of saving and loading Henry's position in space-time reality at any moment, allowing him to freely travel back to that point at any time!

He's only ever used this to trap himself in a loop.

Because Henry.

Wings

Don't fly too close to the sun

Jetpack

It's a jetpack. You know what a jetpack is. I don't need to explain to you what a jetpack is.

Warp Star

A cosmic object Henry can catch a ride on at any moment to propel himself at high speeds through the skies! He can't control it, tough.

Wind Waker

Allows Henry to cast a command melody, allowing him to take control over a target and control them like a puppet. Unfortunately, he's a sitting duck while doing it, leaving him open.

Magic Pencil

A magical pencil that Henry can use to draw anything into existence. Unfortunately, not only are his drawing skills poor, whatever he draws will hate him... because Henry luck.

Penny

Oh look, a penny

Cheese

It's cheese

Cupcake

It's a cupcake

Henry ate the wrapper, because he's a maniac

Tunisian Diamond

The first of the three giant gemstones that Henry stole, and the only one where its the main focus of its game! There aren't actually any diamond mines in Tunisia, so no diamond trivia I'm sorry : (

Romanian Ruby

The second giant gemstone Henry stole, the Romanian Ruby originally belonged to the Toppat Clan (they almost certainly stole it from somewhere else). Romania's mineral mines mostly consist of quartz and jasper stones like opal, but there are actually a few ruby mines there, so lets talk trivia! Did you know that the deeper the colour of the ruby, the more valuable it is? The highest priced ruby ever recorded was sold in a New York auction for over 34.8 million dollars. That's a lot of money!

Norwegian Emerald

The last of Henry's three giant gemstones, this one also stolen form the Toppats! I was surprised to find out that Norway actually has a couple emerald mines, which makes me interested in looking up if we have any here in Sweden as well. Anyways, Norway. They've got this mine called Byrud, where they allow tourists to walk in and collect emeralds (for a fee!). The reason they're open is because the emeralds are of such low quality that they're not worth much. The most valuable emerald ever sold in the world netted in 5.5 million dollars! That's still a lot!

Earpiece

He can probably communicate with someone through this (ooooh foreshadowing!!!!!)

It is 3 fucking am why am I working on this now

Ocarina

Update: I got some sleep

A musical instrument that Henry can use to play a song. What song? Well, it just so happens to summon the one, the only....

Charles Calvin

The man. The myth. The fabled helicopter crasher himself! Charles is always avaliable to help his old pal Henry out, and while help like this wouldn't be normally standard, him being summoned from Henry's Ocarina takes care of that issue (Henry pulled the ocarina out of his ass so )

Henry and Charles can communicate to each other through the earpiece (foreshadowing played off!), allowing them a lot of flexibility on the battlefield.

Charles comes piloting his trusty helicopter, outfitted with a gatling gun, sniper rifle, giant horn, sleeping gas, human-sized cannon, net launcher, questionably useful mind control, hacking technology, bone-melting rays, a crane, and a miniature robotic drone.

But who needs all that when you've got the best weapon of them all? The helicopter itself! It's the greatest battering ram one could wish for! Crashing head-first into your enemies always works! It's foolproof! THE GREATEST PLAN!!!

*ahem*

Sorry.

Power Glove

Some say it grants unlimited power, some say it just makes you look like an idiot.

Markiplier

Grappling Gun

A quick, reliable, and fancy way to scale any heights and zip away from dangers at a moments notice. You know. Unless you fall.

The Box

Ah, yes, the treasure that you risked your and Mark's lives over to get ahold of, a mystical box of unimaginable... something. So, what is it? Well... that's a good question. The "True" ending suggests that it's a temporal anomaly, a cosmic wrench in space-time that causes shifts in time, plotline alterations, and strange coincidences to manifest themselves into reality

However, in other endings, it has also shown to be / contain:
So, what's going on here? What's the Box really about? Well, the easiest way to explain it is that... it's a plot device. Now, hold on, I'm not trying to argue lazy writing, but the main overlying theme of all of Mark's CYOA's is messing with the plot. In Space its due to the wormhole, in Date it's implied to be from Dark's influence, and in Heist its the Box.

It's a temporal anomaly, after all, which messes with space and reality. So, it contains all of the beforementioned items as long as the plot calls for them and it moves the plot forwards.

Flintlock Pistol

A stylish handgun Mark snatched from the museum's pirate exhibit. Fun fact, the namesake flintlock system was the first ever reliable and relatively inexpensive system invented for firing a gun! Man, I wonder if he took anything else-

Bomb

Oh my god he has a bomb too

Pistol

Probably more useful than the pirate gun (but definitely less stylish), Mark's pistol seems to be a standard enough firearm. Basic bullet strength, acceleration, and reload time.

Rocket Launcher

What the fuck now he has a rocket launcher

Controller

Ok so, after not paying for you and Mark's dinner, the two of you come into confrontation with the Chef, which is visually represented as a series of quick-time events. You fail miserably, until Mark comes in, presses X on a controller, and causes the Chef to explode. Yup.

Gun

It's a fucking gun

Sword

It's a fucking sword

Rifle

Okay this is getting a little out of hand

Crescent Rose

I- wait what the fuck where did you get that

Lightsaber

Yeah sure why not at this point right

Warp Core

Saving this for last as it is by far the most convulted thing in Mark's arsenal, the Warp Core is what Mark describes as "the heart and soul" of the Invincible II spaceship, something he "found floating in space", and uses in conjunction with his self built artificial star to power the ship by creating a wormhole. That's the easy part to understand.

The Warp Core did manage to open a Wormhole... the biggest and most destructive one ever seen in the entire universe's history, in fact. So powerful that it's warp crystal (that's what generates the wormhole) is capable of punching holes in the universe

The eventual spread of the wormhole had aftereffects across alternate universes. Every universe, in fact. And although this was obviously done over a long time period, it still goes to show just how powerful the Warp Core is.

So, why is it in Mark's arsenal? Well... he built it. Yeah, Mark was the one who built the Warp Core initially, and sent it back in time so that it could be used on the Invincible II. It's still on the ship at the end of the series, functioning as well as one can, meaning he should have acccess to it at any point. He is the head engineer, after all, and is one of two people with command over the ship.

Powers and Abilities

Henry Stickmin

Falcon Punch

You're not Captain Falcon, mate.

Falcon Kick

Bro what did I just tell you

The KNEE

...alright, okay, it looks like you're finally getting somewhere! But thats still a far cry from mastering the-

Stickmin Punch

Oh nvm look he got it to work

Pickpocketing

With the element of stealth on his side, Henry is capable of putting his sticky hands into people's pockets, picking them for their equipment. Unfortunately, if he steals too much he'll be too heavy to walk.

Wizard Magic

Henry can attempt to channel his inner Cirno in order to summon freezing winds.

"Attempt" is the keyword though. You can look at the picture above to get a good idea of how it went.

Thunder II

A magical spell that actually works, Henry can channel Thunder through his body to work as a stickman-sized taser, breaking out of electrical locks.

Earthbending

Yer a wizard, Henry - Gandalf

Henry can use earthbending to manipulate the ground beneath himself, such as chucking boulders at people or raising walls to defend from attacks. He can even metal bend! Toph would be proud.

Zero-Point Energy

Zero-point energy is the lowest possible energy that a quantum mechanical system may have. Unlike in classical mechanics, quantum systems constantly fluctuate in their lowest energy state as described by the Heisenberg (no way - Loka) uncertainty principle. - Wikipedia

He can use it to move stuff

Harden

Henry can turn his body into stone to defend from attacks, provided said attacks aren't strong enough to still chop him in half. Theoretically, of course.

Shout

Henry is capable of speaking the words of the dragon language in order to shout an unrelenting force strong enough to shatter space-ship windows.

Free Transform

Allows Henry to condense and presumably stretch his height at will.

Warp

Henry is capable of warping through alternate dimensions in order to catch up to foes quicker. Unfortunately, his fragile stickman mind cannot comprehend experiencing something like that, which makes his brain explode or something.

Conversion

Henry is capable of converting an enemy to his side, causing them to join his team and obey his commands.

Self-Destruct

Poof

Fusion

iiiiiiiii am the final light
in this fight to survive

Summoning

With all his power, Henry can summon the almighty, country-sized Shoop da Whoop to blast foes to kingdom come! Takes a week for it to arrive though.

Distraction

I don't... I don't even... I... what?

Markiplier

Persuasion Skills

Mark possesses incredible abilities of persuation and manipulation, even having what we in the buisness call the "casual rizz". He was able to convince a prison guard to give him a cellphone via very... convincing acting, and got the prison chef to give him continous position upgrades without even trying

Summoning

Mark is capable of summoning just about any object to his hand with no issues, probably being the explanation to how he can randomly get access to whatever items or weapons he feels like using at the time. At any moment, he can whip out anything from picnic baskets and firearms, to a complete change of clothing and an entire wooden raft. Again, as long as it serves to move the plot forwards.

"Wormhole Immortality"

During the events of In Space with Markiplier, after Mark and the captain (that's you) jump into the wormhole generator on the Invincible II ship, they emerged back in time in their cryopods, seemingly having gained immortality. Mark is obviously gleeful over this, since every time he dies, he'll simply go back in time to immediately after his waking up. Wether he's been sucked into a black holeincinerated by flames, or exploded by... explosions, Mark will resurrect with no problem.

Kinda.

Okay, so... the exact specifics and minute details of the series are a little unclear, so trying to get some absolutely 100% information is basically impossible, and that's by design. Let's talk about what we know for sure.
  1. Mark believes you and him gained immortality "or something like that" after travelling through the wormhole into a door (which likely respresents alternate timelines) in an attempt to reach the Warp Core room.
  2. Mark retains his exact memories of what happens. He thinks it's immortality due to the fact that he died after going through the door, yet he and you are now back with no issues.
  3. Nothing ever says this is not immortality, and nothing implies that it's simply transferring his consciousness into another timeline or something like that, considering that there are no alterations to the timeline present.
    1. The times the timeline does gain alterations is usually due to other influences or trough the actions of the Captain specifically, who holds a piece of the Warp Core, meaning they are likely exempt from the natural timeline anyways, as implied by the ending of Part 1.
  4. This is similar to what the Captain (you) experiences at the very start of the videos. Specifically, Mark dies being sucked into space, which allows the captain to, after dying, use their knowledge of future events to prevent that from happening again.
So, here are my takeaways for what this means. This is by no accounts the objectively true take, and you are free to come to your own conclusion to how this works if you want to.

Should Mark sustain a fatal wound, his personal time will instantly reverse back to the last point he was unconscious. Its unlikely that it reverses the entire timeline, considering that Mark can die by himself without the Captain also being forced back in time without also dying, which means either of their deaths likely creates a seperate timeline (just like how the differing choices, some of which being Mark specifically dying, creates a new timeline in a Heist with Markiplier).

TLDR; Mark possesses immortality that will instantly revive him back to his latest... I guess "save point", with all his memories leading up to his death intact.

(In case you think that makes it non-combat usable, remember that he has a teleportation device)

Henry Stickmin

Henry is a fucking idiot. There's no way around or need to sugar-coat it, but he's a complete and utter moron. while he has his moments of intelligence and planning at points, Henry is more often the cause of his own failures, ignoring safety protocols and running into dangers without thinking about it.

Even when he does plan, he has a tendency of just having the worst luck ever, with a majority of his own gadgets just refusing to work properly or causing his death instead. Honestly, with his win - lose ratio in mind, its basically a miracle that any ending results in him being anything but dead.

Finally, his greed is his ultimate weakness. Henry will sacrifice just about anything for the sake of money, even going as far as betraying multiple factions just for a little bit of cash. All his enemies are the cause of his inability to stop stealing, after all.

Also, it would be a disservice if i didn't bring up some of Henry's fails. He can die due to:
  • Gas explosions
  • Heart attacks
  • Getting run over
  • Crashing a jetpack
  • Getting burnt in the Earths core

Markiplier

(Obligatory mention: he's afraid of the ocean)

Wether we're talking Heists, Dates, Spaces, or let's play videos, Mark's biggest weakness has always been his impatience. He's really bad at waiting, preferring to get things done and dealt with immediately, even if that puts his life at risk. Even when he takes his time, he usually doesn't actually spend that time actually coming up with a plan.

He's also got some issues with pride, anger, overconfidence and most notably, greed, all of which have lead to his death and downfall on a number of occasions. These also sometimes lead to him just... ignoring obvious danger in order to get himself in trouble.

Finally, he just.. makes the WEIRDEST decisions sometimes. Like how after stealing the Box and escaping down the sewers into a dark tunnel, he became hyperfixated on continously splitting up with you, or when the world broke out into a zombie apocalypse, and he was very determined on going to "a super welcoming open for all camp", rather than a laboratory that claimed they were close to figuring out the way to stop it. It's almost like logic just escapes him sometimes.

Oh, and I couldn't possibly finish this section without going over some of his fails as well. Mark can die due to:
  • Getting crushed by boulders
  • Getting punched into walls
  • Getting crushed by an anchor
  • Getting eaten by a crocodile
  • Getting eaten by a worm
  • Getting eaten by YOU (as a zombie)
  • Getting shot
  • Getting sucked into space
  • Getting electrocuted
  • Getting incinerated
  • Freddy Fazbear
  • And, of course, many more...

Summary

Henry Stickmin

Advantages:
  • Physically stronger
  • One-ups in versatility, both for basic weapons, power-sets, and reality warping gadgets
  • Has plenty of one-shotting options, many of which bypass conventional durability.
  • Depending on interpretation, potentially has ways to deal with Mark's immortality.
  • Charles
Disadvantages:
  • Isn't Markiplier
  • Idiot
  • Most weapons and abilities are countered
  • Is gonna have a hard time getting around Mark's immortality
  • All of his weapons and powers just deciding not to work is a genuine win condition for Mark
    • A large number of his weapons will also just... straight up kill him if misused... or used at all.

Markiplier

Advantages:
  • Is Markiplier
  • Obviously much smarter
  • Wittier, more tactical and a quicker thinker
  • The Warp Core's highest power is leagues above anything Henry can feasibly match
  • His weapons tend to actually do what they're supposed to most of the time
Disadvantages:
  • Physically weaker
  • Most weapons and abilities are countered
  • Lacks Henry's versility
  • His "immortality" doesn't actually stop things from affecting his body, so while killing him traditionally is a no-go, most incapacitation methods should work just fine on him
  • The Warp Core is unlikely to reach its full power in a one on one fight

Verdicts

Loka Fåghel

You know, when I started researching this matchup, I was expecting this to be a somewhat zany but still relatively grounded fight between two goofballs with wacky weapons, Bond vs Wick if Wick was also Bond if you will. It seems that I had forgotten just how crazy these two series can get, because this debate is.... jeez, like where the hell do I even start?

Alright, stats. Henry is stronger, that's pretty blatantly obvious considering that the best Mark scales to is shredding some rocks (Warp Core nonwithstanding). Meanwhile, Henry's Nano-Suit can flip space stations over and shatter large solar panels with what wasn't even an attack.

In terms of speed, I wanna say they're equal? I find both of their respective laser feats... questionably usable, but even besides that they both upscale from automatic gunfire dodging, so lets put them at even.

As for durability, Mark is a lot tougher. Henry can survive being rammed with over 800 tons of TNT, but Mark can survive exposure to star-levels of energy. No matter how brief or frozen he was, that's still way higher than a Town level collision. If you wanna get crazy, he also survived the detonation of a weapon capable of erasing 27 alternate timelines, so that's something.

Alright, so we've got Henry for strength, Mark for durability, and even speed for both. If those were the only factors, it seems almost like a stalemate. But everyone knows that's not where it ends. Let's talk Gadgets and Hax.

Both have a bunch of firearms, both have melee weapons, and both can also just potentially whip out whatever tool they need at any moment. Basic weaponry is a toss-up, which leaves us with their wackiest weapons.

Right from the get-go, Henry has a mobility advantage. While their respective teleporters cancel each other out, Henry has a Wormhole Rifle, a jetpack, and the Lagswitch, all of which will give Mark a hard time hititting him. Add in a clone via the Duplicatorange, the ability to keep Mark at bay with the Force Gun or Zero-Point Energy, and size alteration from the Shrink Ray and Cookie, he'll be able to slip out and away from most of Mark's attacks. From there, he can land a killing blow via one of his many insta-win conditions, like the Pew Pew Gun, Sonic Pulse, or just simply beating him to death with the Metal Hat or Sandwich boost.

Except that won't really do it, will it? Let's go into what makes this matchup so convoluted: Mark's immortality. If Henry lands a killing blow, Mark will just be able to jump back into the battle no worse for the wear. And considering that he was very enthusiastic about continously doing so during Space's "Jump in Again" route (a canonical infinite timeloop), him just deciding to stop after a dozen or so deaths is unlikely.

So, does Mark have a way to take out Henry? Quite a few actually. The Controller is a potential insta-kill option, he could use the Box to warp him to another dimension and strand him there, or... activate the Warp Core. Yeah, I've been neglecting to bring it up until now because its easily Mark's best winning option. The sheer power of the Warp Core is leagues above any and all of Henry's feats, even upon immediate activation considering its powered by a star.

Now, the debate turns into "Can Henry bypass Mark’s immortality?". Let's see.

The Infini³ seems like it could trap Mark, but canonically it was only able to hold a helmet before ejecting it's contents because Henry bough it used, so at best it'd only buy him a second or so of time.

The Shrink n' Grow and Shrink Ray could shrink him down to small sizes, but Mark would still be too tough for Henry to seriously injure.

The Downgrader and Transdimensionalizer could be a risky way to trap both of them for a psuedo-suicide kill, but the Box gives Mark the ability to travel to other timelines, leaving Henry stuck.

Command Melody or Conversion could maybe mindhax Mark, but they both require some time to set up, and considering their equivalent speed, its unlikely to work. Not to mention Mark is also an expert at persuation, and Henry is easily manipulated.

So, this leaves us with the three things that i belive are Henry's best options for this fight: Leafmöde, the CorrupTick, and his Time Machine.

Could Henry travel back in time to before Mark even built the Warp Core in the first place and kill him there? That's certainly a possibility... but the Box contains a device that turns back time, so the moment Henry tries to time-hop, Mark can rewind time to bring him back.

As for the CorrupTick, it seems like a foolproof suicide move opportunity, right? Yeah, it does... except Mark was able to physically rip Darkiplier out of his own dimension after he had already taken control of the videos narrative. This implies some sort of resistance to reality-warping bullshit, so I can see Mark at least being able to resist the CorrupTick's effects long enough to deal with it.

And finally, Leafmöde. Could Henry slap this on Mark and / or the Warp Core to turn either into a leaf? Yup. No counter argument there, thats just a genuine possibility.

Ultimately, this matchup comes down to two possibilities. Does Mark activate the Warp Core and take out Henry with a single attack, or does Henry slap Leafmöde on Mark to end him without dealing any actual damage? Considering their equal speed, either is a genuine possibility.

And this is where Henry's massive arsenal bites him in the ass. Do tell, what are the chances that even after failing to kill Mark, say, a dozen times,  Henry decides to use specifically Leafmöde?

Mark's win condition relies on him using a major part of his arsenal thats the central focus of an entire storyline, but Henry's is in grand scheme a very small item amongst his entire loadout. And when both character's have exactly one reliable chance to win, I think the more reliable one gives the higher chance to do so.

But isn't it fitting that Henry only has one way to win amongst a hundred failures? Its certainly poetic, because after a very hard-fought and extremely close bout, Markiplier will be the one to have stolen this victory.

RedHunter12

Hello everybody my name is RedHunter12 and welcome to my answer to who wins this blog, let's get this shit started.

STATS

To start us off let's start with physical strength and it's evenish with Henry leading by 3x, but including Stickman Punch and Nanotech feats, the gap becomes wide in his favor. But Markiplier does have an answer with the Core, with the power reaching star levels of potency, it eclipses anything Henry can dish out, nanosuit including.

Speed is basically even, both have mach to ftl speed feats with similar contexts so I’d say what you can argue for one, you can argue for the other.

Durability is where things get interesting, with how the feats presented, Henry’s durability is around his general strength while Markiplier’s dura eclipses his own strength, from tanking explosions to tanking the core’s energies twice, it's easy to argue his dura eclipses his own strength and by proxy, Henry’s.

Experience

On paper it's basically even, both have been involved with multiple Heists and Government conspiracies but there’s one big elephant in the room. Markiplier has played and 100% every single one of Henry’s games. And this is a problem why? As mentioned in Thanos Vs. Darkseid and Rick Vs. The Doctor, if a character has experience with whatever the opponent has thrown out, it is included so while experience of actual work is equal, Markipilier has experience with Henry but not vice versa so 1 point for Markiplier.

Arsenal

Henry has a better arsenal in terms of versatility and haxes, but comes at the cost that some are horribly unreliable like teleporter and dimension hopper while Markiplier’s are more grounded and not as bs not counting Box (the insides are random btw), the controller, or Crescent Rose so I’ll give arsenal to Henry because he can still work around the limitations of weaknesses of this arsenal.

Ability Interactions

This is where things get interesting so lets break this down.

Henry Counters
  • Mindhax: Henry also has this
  • Time Travel from Box: Time Machine allows free time travel for Henry to follow Markiplier.
  • Controller: Save state
  • Timeline Immortality: Leafmöde transmutation doesn’t kill so Markiplier can’t cheese it

Markiplier Counters

  • Ifini³: Would work but Markiplier has been shown being able to rip dimensions apart as seen in DwM so he can instantly bust out.
  • CorrupTick: Initially seems like an uncounterable suicide win con, but Markiplier has taken on Darkiplier who has similar reality overwrite abilities so CorrupTick would instantly end the fight…in Markiplier’s favor through tanking it.
  • Downgrader: Countered with dimension busting.
  • Save State: Timeline immortality cheeses this as it allows him to travel to before a save was made.
  • Time Machine: Timeline immortality grants a minor acausulty affect to Markiplier, so Henry trying to fuck with his past will instantly reverse on Markiplier’s death.
  • Mindhax: Markiplier also has this
OVERALL

To end this mind bending blog off, I think Markiplier is the safer option, he’s massively stronger and more durable with Core so Henry would have to scramble to hax a win, which goes into the next part. While Henry does have a massively better arsenal, Markiplier surprisingly counters the more dangerous stuff such as sealing and dimensional hacking but there’s one huge elephant in the room, Leadmöde, cannot be countered and will bypass immortality so it depends if Henry can land it before the Core obliterates him, can he? Wellllll, speed is equal but experience is a problem, with Markiplier having experience with Henry’s adventures means he could see everything coming, including Leafmöde, which means Markiplier’s immortality can be used to its full measure such as bypassing Save State cheesing by simply getting booted to before it goes off and its biggest boon, allowing Markiplier to keep him memories, gives him the ability to quickly adapt to whatever Henry throws at until he buys enough time for the Core to nuke Henry.

All in all, while Henry was physically stronger and had a better, yet unreliable arsenal, Markiplier’s experience, immortality, and specific counters were to much for Henry to bear, leading to a Failure with Markiplier.

AnAustralianPerson

(I hate you for picking this image Aussie - loka)

So, Henry vs Mark. This is certainly a... unique match-up, but who do I think wins? Well, let's break this down.

For strength/tools, Henry takes the cake, at least physically. Outside of tearing Darkiplier out of his own realm, Mark and YOU haven't done nearly as many great physical things as Henry (.05 tons vs 986 tons). However, I do have to acknowledge that the Warp Core can punch holes in reality as a side effect, and since Mark can access it at any time, so overall, I'll give strength to Mark.

For speed, I'd say that's a tie, with both being able to dodge both bullets and lasers reliably (bit of a big jump if you ask me).

Lastly, techniques, hax and misc. I'm gonna keep it real with you chief, Mark is not being Henry in terms of hax. With a larger arsenal, magic, better fighting skill, and better equipment, Mark is not beating Henry in that regard. However, Henry also doesn't really have a way of killing Mark thanks to the latter's "Wormhole Immortality," so surely Mark wins via perseverance, right? Not quite.

To me, Henry has a surefire way of bypassing the "Immortality." By using the Time Machine or breaking the Teleporter, Henry could be sent back to a time before anything had happened; before the Date had been decided, before the Heist had been planned, and before the Warp Core let Mark travel In Space. In this before time, Henry could easily get the jump on Mark and kill him before anything goes down, which may cause a reality-breaking paradox, but hey, it's nothing Henry can't survive.

Ultimately, as much as it pains me, I do believe Henry beats Mark. With such a sheer power difference, relatively equal speed, and a sure-fire way to get rid of Mark (paradoxes notwithstanding), Henry could easily deal with the Warp Core, immortality, and plenty of other plot devices Mark has in hand. Guess Mark's victory was heisted as Henry completed the mission.

DekHead

Hello everybody, my name is DekHead and welcome to Henry Stickmin vs Markiplier. Thanks Loka. Love these two to death, loved playing their games (So to speak with Mark), and this idea's a fun one. So, who wins in the end?

Strength and AP wise, is kinda clear cut. Markiplier's not shown to be too impressive physically, and while the orbital laser and explosives are nothing to scoff at, Henry's been able to punch helicopters out and destroy town sized spaceships by screaming too hard, meaning he's more than tough enough to tear Mark to shreds in a one on one fight. Speed-wise is a similar story. While I'm not sold on the laser feats for either, Henry can still stand up to the cyborg RHM with his technology, who is scalable to... him as a cyborg, strange enough. And in this form he was able to bat a plasma ball across the earth in seconds, which would hit thousands of times faster than any feat Markiplier himself has shown topping out at Mach 6.6

When comparing their arsenals, Henry has Mark beat here in almost every way too. Time machine? Henry has that countered with his save states and own time machine. Guns, swords, explosives, Henry's got em all himself. Henry can use Save States to achieve a similar effect to the timeline transporter. And even if it's slow, he has his own summon to counter the orbital laser Markiplier has in his box. Combine that with most of the Box's arsenal not being useful for combat, Henry having a more plentiful toolkit that he can more easily access, and generally being a more capable combatant, that means a pretty clear cut win, right?

Well, here's the thing. Markiplier's quantum immortality means that even though Henry can easily kill Mark in a one on one fight, Mark can just keep coming back a theoretically infinite number of times. And one of those times he could just use the controller to blow Henry up or make a wish on a fairy to wish him gone. Is it reliable? Maybe not. But Mark having any chance means Henry needs some way to incapacitate him for good or else he'll always be at risk, especially since Mark will always know what's coming next each time. So, does he have the means?

He does. Sorta. Mark's immortality isn't inherently part of his nature, but rather reliant on the warp crystal to keep himself alive. And by the end of In Space With Markiplier, destroying this crystal ultimately resets everything back to the way it was. While he doesn't have the means to incapacitate Mark without backfiring on himself, the Wind Waker and Conversion skills give him the means to persuade and mind hax Mark, either being able to convince him to give up or spell out how his immortality works, allowing Henry himself to get rid of it at the source and convince Mark to give up. It may require a ton of trial and error and isn't particularly conventional, but it's ultimately how both roll.

Henry's definitely gonna miss the Mark a few times, but he's got what it takes to Stick it to the Man.

AwesomeEthan48

You know, it'd be a disservice if the literal stickman of this community didn't write a verdict for this blog.

Hi, it's me Ethan, AKA that stick figure that does all the Death Battle-related art, and I figured I'd take some time out of my day from all things mildly stressful to throw my 2 cents into this debate. Don't expect something too in-depth, though. Not only am I not a hardcore VS-debater... I also still got stuff to due as of writing this, both in terms of commission covers and actual college assignments.

Anyway, to make a potentially long argument short, I think that Henry's got his in the bag, and not because of potential bias... maybe. Basically, I think even with his shitty luck, Henry's more diverse arsenal gives him some OHKO/incap options (namely Leafmöde, the NES Zapper Pew Pew Gun, and the CorrupTick for a suicide kill (which DOES count as a win via DB's rules)) and better mobility (the Portal Gun Wormhole Rifle, the Super Leaf from Mario 3, the Newgrounds Tank, his scooter, and even his Teleporter if the stars somehow align... or if Henry throws it on the ground in rage). And while both can time travel since the Box can just... do that, apparently, Henry's ability to Save and Load should give him a somewhat better chance at finding a good way to take Mark down.

But most importantly... Henry survived Charles' Greatest Plan™️ in the Valient Hero route of Completing the Mission. Mark... technically did through his playthrough of the game, but he himself hasn't.

In the end, Mark couldn't Bank on thinking outside the Box. Sucks that he couldn't stick around longer. The winner (at least in my opinion) is Henry.

Gman

This matchup has an interesting debate, so I'm going to look at it one advantage at a time. I'm not the best at vs debating, so bare with me.

In terms of Strength, I believe Henry should be far stronger, mostly thanks to his nano-suit and earthbending abilities. With said nano-suit he was able to stomp a space station with enough force to make it flip. In comparison, Markiplier doesn't really have anything that could increase his strength to that extent judging from what I read, so I'll have to give this category to Henry.
Now as for speed, I believe Markiplier has this in the bag. Henry was able to dodge gatling gun fire and block a laser with a mirror. While impressive, I believe that pales in comparison to Markiplier, who was able to actually dodge lasers fired at him, as opposed to just reacting to them.
Durability goes to, again, Markiplier.

It's no secret that both character's durability is very inconsistent due to the nature of their Choose Your Own Adventure formatting. But while Henry's best durability feat is surviving Charles "doing a Charles" Which I'm assuming is surviving a helicopter crash, Markiplier was able to survive the detonation of an energy gun, which was able to erase 27 branching timelines. That...that seems way better than a helicopter crash IMHO.

Their abilities, and Gadgets. The MEAT of this matchup. Who do I think wins this? That's the tricky part.

While both Henry and Markiplier do have ways to revive after dying and means of teleportation, I believe Henry's gadgets when they don't kill him because he's fucking stupid are just, better. Leafmöde can turn Markiplier into a leaf, the duplicatorange can clone Henry, giving him a numbers advantage, the pew pew gun doesn't need reloading so that much alone should help with firepower.

But what Henry has in quantity, Markiplier has in Quality, the Warp Core. The Warp Core can open wormholes. Some of the biggest and deadliest wormholes in the history of the universe. Eventually, it was able to spread across every universe. And since it can teleport, Markiplier can just get it whenever!

So, I feel, in terms of their gadgets, both are too varied for me to give one the advantage over the other.

Also Markiplier has a lightsaber so could just cut Henry in half tbhhhhhhhhhhh

And of course, Intelligence, smarts, etc. Markiplier has this. I don't think I need to compare anything this time, it should kinda just be obvious, hopefully.

So, who do I think wins?

In spite of Henry's surprisingly superior strength and deadly variety of gadgets, I believe Markiplier, with his better speed, unmatchable durability, and destructively powerful Warp Core.

Markiplier sure sticked it to this man. Sure whatever I'll go with that.

Mannington

This was a matchup with tons of variables in the air between two opponents of varying skills and competent moments. But even with everything they’ve both done, they surpass the other in one way or another, including the statistics. Stats for speed were shockingly close, with both comparable in lightspeeds in laser reactions. The other stats are a much different story. Henry surviving the likes of Charles’ plan on the space station dwarfed all of Mark’s direct strength showings. The Warp Core could potentially match that though not knowing over how much or other details that could fit in a fight would dampen effectiveness. Even if it did work instantly, Mark himself would likely be in danger as much as Henry. Flipping the coin, Mark doesn't have the durability to match the high ends of the Stickmin Punch or the NanoSuit’s gravity enhanced stomps, or even the space station destroying shout, dubiousness if it kills Henry normally aside. But beyond all that, even if Mark had a huge step up there, he could never match the absolutely insane potential of Henry’s arsenal and powers.

I’m not even gonna try to sugarcoat it, Henry has such a comically larger set of weapons and skills to pull from it's laughable. He’s got firearms that match and surpass Mark’s own, armor that drastically improves his physical capabilities, magic and gizmos that can bypass normal defenses, and so many other things that couldn’t even be mentioned in this blog that could have an equal chance to obliterate Mark. Even giving Mark the benefit of the doubt with the “plot devices” from tools he can pull out of thin air and stuff like The Box, it wouldn't be much. His showings are either far more grounded, far less useful in a fight, or both. And stretching the definition to Mark always having “the right tool for the job” would be illogical, given many have not been useful or had the chance to use them, something shared with his stickly opponent. Mark simply just doesn't have anything to match…except that he’s immortal.

Yeah, Mark having a way back at basically all times from being killed is pretty huge, meaning he can hop back to battle after every death. This might not seem like much at first, he’s just gonna keep dying, even with knowledge of Henry’s powers…until Henry fucking kills himself. Listen, I don’t care how “peak performance” or totally aware we’re making Henry, the entire hook of his series is how many times Henry can die in different ways. If Mark could stall out long enough, it is absolutely plausible that Henry would manage to kill himself without even taking Mark with him. And now the debate has changed: can Henry bypass Mark’s wormhole immortality before he blows himself up?
Yyyyyyyyeah sure

While Henry himself wouldn’t have a way to figure out the wormhole immortality, he does have plenty of ways to incapacitate Mark knowingly or otherwise. Leafmöde could trap Mark if it got slapped on him. Depending on how you view the use of the Shadowizer, Mark could be stuck as one forever. The Command Melody could be used to incapacitate Mark and trap him. BUt among all of these, there’s one that has solidified my vote: The damn time machine. A tool that somehow, despite all the horrible potential for failure, works flawlessly. Given Henry was able to find the Bukowski brothers and easily get them out of the force, it is absolutely possible Henry could just…kill Mark while unaware before he experienced the Wormhole Immortality. Paradoxes don’t seem to affect him, so Henry could easily return to his normal life and do whatever he was doing before the battle. When he used this originally, it wasn’t even for a huge stake he had no other options for, just to deal with some soldiers holding Ellie up. He could absolutely jump to using that early on without risking his other options.

Both combatants here were incredibly tough and even more tenacious, but Henry Stickmin just had every and any tool to finish a Match with the Markiplier.
