Prediction Blog: Amy Rose vs Elphelt Valentine
"Love wins" - Mannington
Amy Rose, the hammer-wielding heroine of Sonic the Hedgehog's Freedom Fighters.
Elphelt Valentine, the gun-toting Valentine Gear from... Guilty Gear!
Tell me, if you were a member of one of Earth's primary defence forces, what would be your main motivation to fight? Revenge, satisfaction, money, or perhaps even... love?
No? Well, too bad, because today's fighters do just that! Wether it be a misguided attempt at finding a partner, or just out of their sheer devotion to the world, these lovely lassies have given it their all to stand against the most dire of odds and keep the good fight going. But when they have to throw peace aside in a brutal deathmatch, who comes out on top? Let's find out!
Before we begin...
This blog features spoilers for Sonic x Shadow Generations and Guilty Gear Strive, alongside the rest of the Sonic and Guilty Gear series.
Hi! Welcome to 2025! It's a new year for me, and a new year for my prediction blogs, so I hope you're excited to read them! In terms of changes to the formula... there's not much to say, actually.
Of course, like everyone else, I have a desire to improve my works as more time passes and I get more experience with them, but I think my current layout of prediction blogs are pretty good. Expect more blogs to have deep dives in the "before the verdicts" segment though, that's a part I really want to improve (you got an example of it in the Wolverine vs Raiden blog), since I've felt that my earlier blogs lacks the detail the matchups deserved.
There are also some small test changes done to the source citations and background segments. Lemme know if you like them! (I added those before the G1's first 2025 blogs came out I promise I'm not ripping off them we just had the same idea at the same time)
I'm really excited to get into this year of prediction blogs! Hope you look forward to the wacky and hopefully engaging matchups I have prepared!
Anyhow, let's talk about Amy vs Elphelt. You're probably familiar with Sonic on Death Battle, and I'll cover it much the same. The mainline Sonic games and their spin-offs are the primary source of analysis, with the IDW Comics and cartoons close thereafter. No Archie or movie Sonic here. (Also, for the purposes of this blog, modern and Classic Amy are considered one character. I know at least one of you was gonna ask about it.)
For Guilty Gear, I'll examine it akin to how I handled it the last time I used a GG character, which is by looking at all officially licensed Guilty Gear media. This includes the games, the manga, the cd dramas, and the card game.
Happy valentines day or something

Background
Amy Rose
- Full Name: Amy Rose
- Nicknames: Rosy, Pinky, Ames
- Age: 12
- Height: 90 cm / 2'11"
- Species: Hedgehog
- Leader of Team Rose
- Interests: Love, fashion, tarot cards, boxercising, Freedom Fighting
In the infinite Multiverse, there exists a world unlike anything else. A world where humans and animals coexist with equal sentience, a world where peace and happiness can be found wherever you go, and most importantly, a world that's threatened every other day by the evil scientist Dr Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik.
Yet this world had a hope in the form of the heroic blue blur known as Sonic. Every time the Eggman hatched a scheme, the supersonic hedgehog would run in and fry it in a day's work, quickly becoming the talk all around the globe. One of the many people who heard these tales of legend was a young, pink hedgehog by the name of Amy Rose. And once she heard the stories of Sonic's adventures, she became immediately obsessed.
It didn't take very long for Amy to try and meet her idol, which she decided to do by reading tarot cards in order to predict his next location. While it may have sounded like an odd strategy, it actually worked! Amy's prediction brought her to Little Planet, and she would indeed meet her crush there... as in, she would be kidnapped by Eggman and Sonic was forced to save her- but hey what counts is that they met eventually!
Unfortunately for the young girl however, Sonic had no interest in her advances, which Amy didn't really take well. Convinced that if she kept pestering him and that he would one day accept her love, Amy began to follow Sonic's super steps every where he went, essentially forcing her way into his adventures.
But eventually, Amy actually calmed down a little with her shenanigans. Although her affection for Sonic remains powerful as always, Amy became a trusted friend of the Blue Blurs, joining his team of Freedom Fighters in the battle for peace against Eggman's forces, and setting her sights on instead improving the life for all life on the planet. It's safe to say that Amy Rose's love will never die, and now that she using that drive to spread her love for the whole wide world, she will let no evil try to take it down.
Elphelt Valentine
- Full Name: Elphelt Valentine
- Nicknames: El, Eru
- Age: Unknown
- Height: 168 cm / 5'6"
- Species: Valentine
- Bloodtype: "Mysterious"
- Member of the Speothos Vebaticus
- Interests: Love, happiness, music, guns, pretending to be a bush dog
In a world not to dissimilar to our own, the discovery of magic forever changed how evolution moved forwards. The Dawn of Revival had commenced, and the world seemed to be heading towards a better tomorrow. However, not everyone was happy with how the world was turning out. In the eyes of the Universal Will, true humanity did not exist. And if it did not exist, someone had to create it.
In order to create this "true human" of its vision, the Universal Wil took the mortal form of Ariels, the Sanctus Maximus Populi (Basically, the pope), and sought to use the extradimensional realm known as the Backyard to succeed in her goals. After a couple failed attempts, she succeeded in creating the sibling pair of Valentine Gears; Ramlethal and Elphelt Valentine.
As part of Ariel's plan, Elphelt would monitor Sol Badguy, the man who had destroyed her last Valentine experiment, and infiltrate the other sides forces while suppressing her true intents from even Elphelt herself. And the plan went exactly as intended, however... there was a catch.
Elphelt had been built with human emotions in order to serve her infiltration purpose better. What Ariels never could have expected was for Elphelt to grow a genuine connection to Sol, his friends, and even Ramlethal, who was supposed to have no feelings at all. When Ariels tried to make Elphelt into the very first of her new human race, El's friends fought to get her back, and ultimately, the sisterly bond between her and Ram allowed for Ariels' defeat.
During her time as a tool for her "mother" Elphelt wasn't allowed free will, but with the aid of Sol and her sister, it was something she could finally pursue. Her emotions carried her forwards, and Elphelt found herself longing for love, deciding to pursue it through music to bring a smile to as many people as she could... and, yknow, maybe find a husband too, if she's lucky. Whatever the case, Elphelt lives her current life happy and free, as her band, the Speothos Vebaticus, continues to tour on and on.
Equipment
Amy Rose
Piko Piko Hammer
While most Sonic characters prefer to do battle with their hands and feet, Amy is different, as her favourite combat style involves bashing people across the head with her famous Piko Piko Hammer (fun fact, "Piko Piko" stands for love!).
It a surprisingly versatile weapon, not only used for games of whack-an-egg, but also for boosting Amy into the air, carrying her through the skies like a helicopter, or spinning up entire tornadoes! Plus, should her trusty hammer ever be out of reach, she can call it back to her hand like Mjolnir or teleport it to her location at command.
Long Hammer
Warrior Feather
Boxing Gloves
Gift Bombs
Hidden explosives wrapped with "tender care", Amy uses these to take opponents off guard, because once someone who isn't Amy comes into contact with them... boom!
Weights
I guess she just... has these in her back pocket?
Tarot Cards
Amy has her fair share of peculiar interests, one of her favourites being tarot card reading. Originating from mid-15th century, these 78 card sets were used to play a large variety of different games, but Amy uses them for... other purposes.
Her first utilisation of tarots was through divination, using them in order to gain insight on her future, albeit to which extent is possible is unknown. As time went on, she learnt how to better use their esoteric abilities through techniques such as:
- Tarot Draw: Amy draws a card from her deck and forsees the future, cursing her target (Decreasing their luck and casuing them to miss their next attack).
- Lucky Draw: Amy throws the card forwards, causing anyone to come into contact with it to take damage. This also has the potential to cause two different effects on random.
- Hero Card: When the card strikes a target, Amy gains Rings.
- Dark Card: When the card strikes a target, Amy steals whatever item they were currently holding.
- Fortune Boost: Amy gains a momentarily boost in speed during which she is also invincible, although taking a hit ends the boost.
- Wall of Cards: Amy summons cards in front of her enemies, damaging them on contact. This also has the potential to cause the two different effects that Lucky Draw can on random as well.
- Card Float: Grants Amy additional air-time and allows her to slow down her aerial descent.
- High Card Jump: Amy stomps down hard into the ground, sending damaging cards and hearts flying.
- Card Spin Boost: Amy takes a ride on her hammer while her cards form a large wheel around her, allowing her to have the time of her life as she rides around.
Extreme Gear
The Extreme Gear are wicked cool ring-powered air boards that the Sonic cast can use to ride around in style and fly like there's no tomorrow. Extreme Gear are capable of all sorts of nifty moves, such as spinning up miniature tornadoes or kick dashing to reach hypersonic speeds.
Ark of the Cosmos
A set of ancient and mystical stones that allows their user to manipulate gravity. Specifically, by attaching one to her chest, Amy is able to take a specific entity's personal gravity and control it, allowing her to completely negate it to make them levitate, or create a burst of gravity to send them flying.
Car
Why the hell was Amy on a car in this game
Pink Cabriolet
This one is excused everyone used a car in those games
Pick-up Items
- Bowling Bomb: An explosive that, as the name implies, can be rolled at targets.
- Confusion Star: Causes immense confusion to the target, making them see the world upside down.
- Shield: An energy barrier that guards against all attacks for a short timeframe.
- Giant Rocket: Summons a massive rocket to devastated targets.
- High Speed Shoes: Mario Kart Mushroom
- KO Glove: Launches a projectile boxing glove to strike targets from afar.
- Mega Horn: Causes a very loud shockwave that annihilates incoming projectiles and knocks targets around.
- Mine: Sits stationary wherever placed, blowing up when it comes into contact with anything.
- Pocket Rainbow: Temporarily obstructs the views of other people with an absolute blast of sparkling colours.
- Blowfish: Sits wherever dropped and expands to hit targets.
- Glove: Catches projectiles and gives them to Amy.
- Ice Cannon: Launches ice projectiles, freezing targets on contact.
- Swarm: Summons.... THE BEES
Sonic Chronicles Items
- Angel Amulet: Revives Amy if she dies in battle. Can only be used once.
- Elemental Rings: A set of rings that infuse all of Amy's attacks with elemental properties. She can only wear one at a time. (Ice Ring, Earth Ring, Lightning Ring, Water Ring, Wind Ring).
- Immunity Idol: Renders Amy completely immune to all negative status effects
- Replenisher: Recover's Amy's health over time when in battle.
- Spooky Charm: Makes enemies try to flee.
- Zoah Shield: A shield “infused with invulnerability”.
- Antidote & Cure All Spray: Completely removes any and all of Amy's status effects.
- Bug Spray: Makes all insect opponents weaker.
- Various Healing Items: Health Leaf, Health Seed, Health Root, Med Emitter, Refresher Wave.
- Revival Ring & Ring of Life: Revives allies.
Wisps
Wisps are alien creatures from Planet Wisp (creative) that possess an unique energy source: Hyper Go-On. This odd fuel source grants them many odd esoteric abilities that Amy can utilise when holding on to one.
- White Boost: Grants Amy a simple boost in speed. Many can be used at once.
- Orange Rocket: Summons a homing energy projectile to strike foes.
- Pink Spikes: Covers Amy in spikes, damaging anyone on contact.
- Violet Void: Acts like a black hole, sucking in Items and slowing down targets.
- Yellow Drill: Pierces the heavens.
- Gray Quake: Summons massive stone pillars to damage opponents.
- Magenta Rythm: Creates a loud melody that messes with enemies senses, blocking their vision and hearing momentarily.
- Jade Ghost: Turns Amy intangible for a brief moment.
Chao
Chao are mystical, fairy-like creatures that possess all sorts of odd abilities. Amy can bond to them to utilise these effects for herself, though she can only use one at a time.
- Radu: Greatly increases Amy's maximum HP.
- Koolet: Makes Amy harder to hit.
- Ovus: Automatically Revives Amy if she dies in battle, but can only do it once.
- Spartoi: Has a chance to make any of Amy's attacks instantly KO her opponent.
- Elemental Chao: Ghise, Griff, Pyraz, Seggo, Stiglin, and Zimba enable Amy's attacks to do water, ice, fire, wind, earth, and lightning damage, respectively.
- Shield Chao: Jirna, Knickt, Korus, Perty, and Seeri create shields to protect against earth, lightning, fire, water, and wind damage, respectively.
Rings
The ultimate key to immortality, Amy can hold on to up to 999 rings that can allow her to ignore death. That's right, as long as she has at least one ring on hand, it's almost impossible to land a fatal blow on her, especially when you consider how they allowed Sonic to survive attacks from The End.
Chaos Emeralds
The Chaos Emeralds, renowned for their mystical might, beholding limitless energy and the ability to grant thoughts power. Although there are seven in total, holding on to just one is enough to increase your power far past your usual capabilities, and they grant protection against all sorts of nefarious haxes, like mental invasions and body transmutation. In addition, each emerald possesses it's own unique esoteric ability, such as creating dozens of clones of the user or slowing down the flow of time.
Amy has only had access to the Chaos Emeralds on very few occasions, but they will be considered as standard equipment for this blog. This is due to Sonic Superstars, where she uses them to transform into her Super and Hyper states (more in Transformations). Thus, in order to depict Amy at her peak, she will be given the emeralds here.
Elphelt Valentine
Handgun
Elphelt's preferred secondary firearm of choice, this unnamed handgun, despite its size and short range, boasts surprisingly high firepower and kickback. Perfect for starting combos or launching foes away.
Ms. Charlotte
Elphelt's main weapon of choice, Ms. Charlotte (formerly Ms. Confille) is a huge, six-spinner style rifle that utilises magical energy in order to release either small, concentrated bullets, or massive orbs of destructive energy, no charge up required. When Elphelt isn't using it as a ranged weapon, she frequently wields it as a sword or club to bash people with... or as a microphone. A+ for style points.
Ms. Travailler
Elphelt's strongest weapon, and thus usually reserved for finishing attacks and the killing blow, Ms. Travailler is a heavy artillery rail-shotgun, naturally shooting devastating attacks consisting of magical energy. Unlike Ms. Charlotte, no modifications to the bullets are available, but it's not like they're needed when the resulting damage is this severe.
Explosives
(They go boom. duh)
Boombox
As a rockstar, Elphelt naturally carries with her many weapons of bass destruction, like this boombox radio! By throwing it at someone, it produces such a loud noise that it not only repeatedly damages them, but also literally explodes.
Powers and Abilities
Amy Rose
Combat Experience
At first, Amy was nothing more than a damsel in distress for Sonic to save and reject, but as she grew, she went on to become one of the Freedom Fighter's top members, assisting in saving the world from Eggman's clutches many times over. She's trained not only with her hammer, but also various fighting styles, such as her own type of "boxercising" showcasing proficiency in both armed and unarmed combat.
Also, despite her young age, she's show great skill in piloting many different types of vehicles, and even esoteric hovering tech such as the Ark of the Cosmos, and has proficiency in handling the powerful Chaos Emeralds. She is also a high valued member of the Freedom Fighters and a talented tactician, coming up with plans against the likes of Neo Metal Sonic and the Metal Virus. Safe to say, Amy knows her things.
Super Speed
Spin Dash
Rodent fact: hedgehogs have quills. Quills are sharp.
So, what happens when a hedgehog rolls up into a ball and uses its immense hyper speed to build up a supersonic charge? That's right, one of the most iconic moves in gaming! Like the blue blur, Amy is capable of using the Spin Dash to tear through hordes of enemies with ease, and travel massive distances in a very short time.
Spin Jump
By curling up into a ball while jumping, Amy uses the Spin Jump technique, shredding into airborne targets and striking enemies from above.
Homing Attack
If Amy were to lock on to a target while Spin Jumping, she'd activate the Homing Attack. As the name implies, this attack sends Amy flying towards the closest enemy, striking them for massive damage.
Healing
By concentrating her energy, Amy is able to replenish her health over time.
Amy Flash
A special technique where Amy immobilizes her target for 20 seconds, rendering them unable to move.
POW Moves
In Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, Amy is a playable character and thus has the ability to use specialised POW Moves. They are as follow:
Invisibility
For... some reason, Amy has the ability to turn herself completely invisible at will. This renders her undetectable by targets... unless they see her shadow. Weird.
Sonic Summon(?)
So.... in Sonic Battle, during Rogue's story, she and Emerl comes into conflict with Amy. As they prepare to do battle, Amy starts getting dizzy and imagines Sonic appearing in front of her to help her fight. And then, during the following battle, Sonic is just... there.
Only Amy makes reference to Sonic, with Rogue or Emerl not mentioning him, meaning it's likely this only happened so there could be a double battle.... however, it's MUCH funnier to imagine that Amy willed a temporary clone of Sonic into existence to fight for her.
Resistances
- Cosmic Radiation: Like other Sonic characters, Amy can survive and function just fine in the vacuum of space.
- Extreme Heat: In Sonic Shuffle, the cast can be fine after falling into a star (what).
- Poisons & Toxins: Can travel through chemical Plant Zone, which is filled with hazardous substances.
- Transmutation: Team Chaotix' Chaotix Recital usually turns targets into Rings, but characters like Amy are immune to its effects.
- Elemental Manipulation: Various items and upgrades provide these, such as the Elemental Rings, the Chao, and more.
- Memory Manipulation via the Chaos Emeralds, as Sonic using one rendered him immune from the Phantom Ruby's mind-altering effects.
- Biological Corruption also via the Chaos Emeralds, which resisted and undid the effects of the Metal Virus.
Elphelt Valentine
Combat Experience
Naturally, as a fighting game character, Elphelt showcases a wide variety of skills in... well, fighting. Although she wasn't specicially designed for combat, she was a backup plan against Sol, so it's likely she was built with some fighting in mind. As she herself says when jumping into battle; "well, [she is] a Valentine...".
This comes though in her... unorthodox fighting style. She primarily uses firearms and shows great proficiency in them, swapping between weapons mid-combo no issue. However, when not shooting, a lot of her attacks come off more sloppy and unfocused, implying she doesn't actually know that much about professional fighting.
Moveset:
- Miss Confille: Elphelt pulls out her rifle and takes a stance, allowing her to aim more precisely at her targets and let off singular shots.
- Miss Travailler: Elphelt pulls out her shotgun and takes a stance. From here, she can do a couple different things;
- Poke: Elphelt swipes her elbow directly in front of herself.
- Roll: Elphelt does a dodge roll forwards, rolling through enemies and attacks.
- Launch: Elphelt swings the butt of her shotgun upwards, launching targets.
- Fire: Elphelt fires the weapon. Bang.
- Berry Pine: Elphelt takes out a fruit-shaped grenade and throws it. Then it explodes.
- Bridal Express: Elphelt summons a large bouquet that flies forwards as she sits on it. If she uses it in the air, it will aim directly down at the opponent and crash into them.
- Psych Burst: A special attack Elphelt can use by taking or dealing damage over time, Psych Bursts are powerful moves that can't damage targets, but will knock them back and grant the user complete invincibility for a while.
Overdrives: Overdrives are the mandatory super moves of Guilty Gear, extremely powerful moves that a character can do after filling up a super meter. In the right situation, they can decide entire fights.
- Judge Better Half: Elphelt slashes upwards with a sword, launching the opponent up via a massive, four-story wedding cake. Elphelt then leaps up, slicing the entire thing in half and damaging her opponent.
- Genoverse: Elphelt summons a massive bazooka and fires a large bullet that strikes the target several times.
Instant Kill: If Overdrives are super moves, then the Instant Kill is a Fatality. While not explicitly lethal (In spite of the name), an Instant Kill attack will take the target down in one hit regardless of situation, ensuring that they're DESTROYED!.
- Magnum Wedding: Elphelt's Instant Kill has her take out her rifle and a special bullet she stores in her cleavage (yes really), firing it at her foe. However, this doesn't kill them, instead it forces them to fall in love with Elphelt, regardless of gender, sexuality, or if they already have a partner. Gets very weird and uncomfortable if you think about it for too long, what's important is that it knocks the target out cold as well.
Valentine Physiology
"Valentine Units" are humans infused with Gear cells, created by the Universal Will (or That Man if you're Jack-o') within the Backyard to follow her commands. Compared to humans, Valentines don't need to eat, drink, sleep, or rest (although they do greatly appreciate the chance to), and have a generally enhanced physicality and regenerative process.
Valentine Radar Teleportation
Summoning
Elphelt is capable of summoning whatever she wishes into her hands at any time, such as her weapons (even summoning up to six of her rifles at once), and other nicknacks like giant wedding cakes and bouquets. Whatever goes, I guess.
Flight
weeeeeeeee!
Power Nullification
In Guilty Gear, characters with strong enough magical proficiency have the ability to shut down the powers of those weaker than them. Elphelt has showcased this ability, using it to nullify Ram's powers on two occasions. While a powerful ability, do keep in mind that Elphelt needs to be stronger than her opponent in order to use it.
Self-Destruct
Should a situation become too dire, a Valentine can chose to commit one final attempt at taking their opponent down, and that is by sacrificing all of their energy into one massive kaboom that's sure to wipe not only themselves out, but their enemy too. Although Elphelt's only ever attempt at doing so was interrupted, it was implied it could do major damage.
Resistances
- Diseases, infections & poisons: Built with Gear cells, which nullify all known diseases & Toxins.
- Power Nullification: By those weaker than her, as you need to be stronger than someone in GG to power null them.
- Soul / Mind Manipulation: Was created in the Backyard, which assaults ones mind and soul.
Transformations
Amy Rose
Super Amy
Give us an HD render, Sega.
With the might of seven Chaos Emeralds, Amy powers up to become Super Amy! Sure, she may look the same (if only a little sparklier than normal), but Sonic super forms are far from a simple visual change. With increased strength, speed, the ability to fly, and total invincibility, the super forms are incredibly powerful, capable of taking down entities threatening the entire world.
It's just a shame it runs on a time limit dependant on the amount of rings the user has on hand.
Hyper Amy
GIVE US AN HD RENDER SEGA PLEASE
Achieved with the power of the mysterious and forgotten-by-Sega Super Emeralds, Hyper Amy is a form above the norm, possessing all the abilities of Super Amy, and then some. Specifically, Hyper Forms are considered to have "Ultimate Power", which they can unleash with a screen-spanning Hyper Flash to wipe out legions of enemies at once. Adding to that, Hyper Amy specifically possesses the ability to throw out an infinite volley of Piko Piko Hammers.
Like it's predecessor, the forms duration is dependant on the amount of rings the wielder has.
Elphelt Valentine
True Valentine
Elphelt's true state as a Valentine Gear, as designed by her "mother". This form of Elphelt's truly did lack any feelings or individuallity, forcing Sol to knock some sense into her. Once he did, she was able to regain her current identity, making it questionable if she can achieve this state again.
Probably for the better.

Scaling
Amy Rose
Sonic the Hedgehog
- Can move at Super Sonic speeds. (Get it?)
- Ran fast enough to escape from a maze that grew and folded back on itself ad infinitum. (0.02 c - 1.2 c)
- Fast enough to travel through time by activating Warp Panels.
- In a battle with Metal Sonic, shattered a giant stalactite. (200 Kilotons of TNT)
- Destroyed the chains around Little Planet. (3 Teratons of TNT)
- Can consistently defeat Chaos Emerald-powered enemies in his base form.
- Withstood the destruction of the Paradox Prism, which destroyed the universe. (Universal)
- Ran across the Night Palace, which is infinite in size. (Infinite)
Freedom Fighters
Naturally, being comparable to Sonic makes Amy comparable to the other Mobians Freedom Fighters, which makes sense as she is one of their most capable warriors. Although she's on the lower level of power compared to her strongest allies, she's more than capable of keeping up.
- Tails can still drag 10 tons!
- Knuckles struck the ground hard enough to erupt a volcano.
- Knuckles punched Sonic out of his super form.
- Shadow downed the Death Egg with a Chaos Blast.
- Shadow wields the power of a Chaos Emerald with his Inhibitor Rings removed.
Doctor Eggman
Amy has helped fight off Eggman for years, so it's only natural that she would compare to him, wether it be by battling against his army in base form, or being comparable to his strongest mechs taking on Chaos Emerald-powered super forms.
Eggman's Tech:
- The ARK Cannon blew up half the moon. (377 Zettatons of TNT)
- The Eclipse Cannon can pierce stars. (32 Quettatons of TNT)
- The Final Egg Blaster reached and obliterated an entire star system in one shot. (6 Billion - 58 Billion c & 71 ExaFOE)
- Eggman's best mechs are the most powerful things in his battalion, surpassing:
- Metal Sonic, who while heavily damaged flew from Little Planet to the Death Egg. (15 c - 72 c)
- Infinite, who by using the Phantom Ruby, created a fake sun.
Super Hedgehogs
Amy has a super form, so it's only logical that she should be comparable to her fellow golden super not saiyans. Although she has less experience with the form than Sonic or Shadow, all super modes draw from the same power source, and can thus be considered comparable to at least some degree.
- Super Silver launched the Metal Virus into the sun. (1 Ronnaton of TNT )
- Super Sonic defeated the Time Eater, who could use stars as projectiles and could have potentially devoured all of space-time. (At least Universal, possibly higher)
- Super Sonic, Super Shadow, and Super Silver battled and defeated Solaris across all of time. (See before the verdicts for specifics)
- Solaris threatened to destroy time itself across the past, present, and future, devouring all that ever will or would exist. (Some degree of Multiversal, up to 4D)
- Solaris spread his light across several timelines in seconds. (77 Quadrillion c - likely Immeasurable)
- The Super Forms are powered by the seven Chaos Emeralds, and can thus upscale from anything they're capable of by themselves.
- One emerald can move pieces of the Earth around.
- The Chaos Emeralds and Sol Emeralds together merged Sonic and Blaze's universes. (2x Universal)
Elphelt Valentine
Ramlethal Valentine
While the two Valentine sisters were created for the same plan, El was clearly the more powerful of the two, twice nullifying Ramlethal's powers without any effort, and being confident in her ability to defeat her.
- Absorbed energy powerful enough to turn the planet into dust. (55 Exatons of TNT)
- Nagoriyuki admits that Ramlethal is more powerful than him and that he could not harm her. (Debatable. Depends on how you interpret the wording.)
- Nagoriyuki is a demi-human, an entity whos existence lies in a world above our own, forcing him to downgrade his body in order to exist within our spatial reality. (Potentially upscales from the cosmology, thus 4D - 5D)
- Demi-Humans are stated by Happy Chaos to transcend time. (Immeasurable)
Sol Badguy
As stated numerous times already, Elphelt was specifically designed with the purpose of being able to kill Sol. And while she never did, she is canonically stronger than Ram, who almost managed to, and did a battle with Sol in her true Valentine state. Either way, El is comparable to Sol, even having saved his life twice.
- In a battle with I-No, the two output enough energy to send both of them back in time.
- Withstood the energy of the Outrage, which can output infinite energy.
- Contained a micro black hole in his bare hand. (11,400 Quettatons of TNT / 0.5 FOE)
- Risked overloading the Information Flares in the Backyard simply by activating his Dragon Install. This would have fused it with the normal world and obliterated all of space-time. (Multiversal+, up to 5D, more detail before the verdicts)
- Has defeated Ariels with the power of Happy Chaos, who could overpower Asuka (That Man). Asuka was empowered by the Tome of Origin, a book containing the esscence of the Backyard that birthed all of existence. (Multiversal+, up to 5D)

Condensed in order to save space, being a serious threat to Sol means that Elphelt is comparable to just about everyone else in the series as well as an unquestionable top-tier.
- Bridget can throw opponents to the moon in seconds. (2.4 Gigatons of TNT & 0.4 c)
- Potemkin can smash foes through the Earth. (19 Megatons of TNT)
- Faust can toss around small singularities. (1.5 Yottatons of TNT - 0.13 FOE)
- Justice, when amped by the Outrage Equipment 40 times over, was capable of vaporising all of Japan all the way down to the sea floor. (119 Ronnatons of TNT)
- Justice is also capable of flying from ground level into space in seconds. (2,000 c - 22 Trillion c)
- Slayer can launch foes to another galaxy in one second flat. (985 Ronnatons of TNT & 442 Billion c)
- Merged with Happy Chaos, I-No was capable of restarting the entire universe several times, and threatened to collapse the entire Backyard with her existence alone. (Multiversal+, up to 5D, more detail before the verdicts)
- In this state, I-No was directly stated to transcend the concept of time. (Immeasurable, more detail before the verdicts)
Weaknesses
Amy Rose
Amy isn't perfect, far from it in fact. While she is for sure super skilled and powerful, she's still a teenage girl with all the baggage that comes with that. Her frequent mood swings and short temper have gotten her in trouble quite a few times, and she's shown herself to be quite reckless in combat.
And while her Super forms are really cool, they run on a limited fuel source that decreases every time she is hit, and once those rings have been knocked out of her, there's little she can do to survive an overwhelming attack. While certain tools and items could aid her with this, she rarely relies on them, preferring the useful but not foolproof "hit hard and hope for the best" battle tactic.
Elphelt Valentine
For all her strengths, Elphelt is also... not the brightest. While not dumb by any means, her lack of proper upbringing and human interaction is evident, and results in a rather scatterbrained and unfocused woman who is very easily distracted by just about everything, especially the Feels™. She's also far from an expert combatant, and seems to just kind of wing it when fighting most of the time.
Summary
Amy Rose
Advantages:
- Can potentially match in stats with Super and Hyper's highest scaling.
- Generally smarter.
- More experienced combatant.
- Super forms are invulnerable.
- At least equal in speed with potentially better arguments for being faster.
- Various potential items and equipment provides that hax abilities Elphelt cannot counter.
Disadvantages:
- Stands no chance in base form.
- Cosmology high-ends are far more shaky.
- Susceptible to emotional manipulation.
- Most hax abilities and items are niche at best, and it's questionable if she'd use them.
- Ring protection can only carry her so far.
- Invulnerable Super forms only last so long.
Elphelt Valentine
Advantages:
- Cosmology high-ends are much more blatant.
- Statstomps base Amy.
- With higher stats, outmuscles even Super and Hyper Amy.
- At best, is equal in speed.
- Emotional manipulation will likely work on Amy.
- Can potentially power null the Chaos Emeralds.
- Gun > Hammer
Disadvantages:
- Not as smart or skilled.
- Less comparable high-end speeds.
- Lacking in similar battle experience.
- Lacks counter to many of Amy's hax items.
- Could have a hard time getting around Super form invulnerability.

Cosmology
Sonic
The Sonic world's cosmology is a rather infamous one, but also one that I've featured twice in my blogs in the past, so I'll make it as clear as I can. The world takes place in an universe very similar to ours, with nothing noting that it's a different size. (Universal)
In addition to this, we are aware of numerous other separate spatial dimensions that could very well be universal in size, some examples being thrown Sol Dimension, Cyberspace, Arabian Nights, and many more! In addition, Shadow the Hedgehog (the game) features 326 different routes that Shadow the Hedgehog (the character) can take, all of them being considered canonical to at least some degree. (326+x Universal).
That's the stuff we can prove for certain, so let's talk stupid. In Tailstube Episode 4, Tails and Amy discuss the existence of parallel universes, to which Tails states that “within the endless possibilities of space, there could be an infinite number of Sonics out there!” and that “When it comes to the Multiverse, anything is possible”. This matters, because the realm of Maginaryworld has been described as the source of all dreams across all dimensions, and in a video posted to the official Sonic channel, a Chao dreams of an entire adventure through space, meaning dreams could potentially be universe-sized. (Multiversal+)
Maginaryworld also contains a hub world known as "Fourth Dimension Space", or just the "Fourth Dimension" in the original Japanese translation. (4D)
Loka's Notes: There are additional arguments for higher dimensionality, although these rely on assuming information we do not have, such as Maginaryworld having its own time-space above the Fourth Dimension, and thus making it 5D. I chose to omit them from this blog for those reasons. The Tailstube statement is a questionable source at best, as it was a very offhand comment made by Tails (he literally says "could"). Regardless, it works as a good extreme high-end, albeit one i would not personally use.
Guilty Gear
Guilty Gear is an interesting case cosmology-wise, as it both is and isn't very complicated. So, we know for a fact that Guilty Gear takes place on Earth, and thus likely within our universe as well. (Universal)
In addition to that, there's the Backyard, which we know for a fact is a separate, alternate dimension larger than the normal universe. The Backyard can process infinite magic and information, meaning it most likely is infinite in size. (1x Universal, 1x Universal+)
The Backyard can also process infinite timelines with infinite outcomes and infinite possibilities. (Multiversal+) It has also been explicitly stated several times to be a higher dimension than our universe. (Multiversal+, 4D)
Inside of the Backyard is the Underworld Hill, a separate plane of reality capable of altering its phase to transcend above space-time, even that of the Backyard. (4D - 5D)
Loka's Notes: No notes required, this is all laid out fairly blatantly. 5D is a little rickety, as it's possible the Underworld Hill's description is simply meant to refer to it rising above our reality, thus making it 4D. Regardless, a very nice and concise cosmology. Good job, Guilty Gear!

Scaling to Solaris
Oh, Solaris, we'll never be free of you, will we?
Everyone has their unique interpretation of Solaris. Some say he's multiversal because he planned to devour time across the Sonicverse, some say he's not even uni because he only threatened the fabric of time and not space itself, some say the super forms can't scale to him as they battled him together, and some say the characters have evolved in power to such a degree where their base forms could reasonably take him out.
Of course, I don't speak for everyone, or even the majority, but here's my interpretation based upon what we see in Sonic 06.
We see in the game that Solaris threatened everything. According to Eggman, Solaris was actively threatening to reduce "every timeline" into nothingness in both the English and Japanese versions, and both the guidebook and the encyclopedia back this statement up, the latter stating that he would destroy "all of spacetime". It is as blatant as can be, in all honesty. Solaris very evidently threatened every timeline within the Sonicverse's spacetime.
With Solaris' strength tackled, let's take a look at the way they defeated him. They do this by using the Chaos Emeralds to juice Sonic, Shadow, and Silver up to their super forms, and having the three battle him in the present, the past, and the future (cool parallel).
In my Shadow vs Mewtwo blog, I treated this as a simple "took three super forms to kill him, so they're each 1/3 of Solaris' power". However, I no longer agree with this.
The three super forms were all conceived with a single set of Chaos Emeralds, and allowed for super forms capable of battling three sets of Solaris, not one third of his strength each. There's no reason the Solaris that Sonic fought should have 1/3 the strength of Solaris itself, as it was simply the same creature that Shadow and Silver battled, just at a different point in time.
So I believe the Chaos Emeralds, and all super forms created by them, are directly comparable to Solaris' full power of the cosmology wipe.
Loka's Notes: One may argue that Amy doesn't have that same level of experience with the super forms and thus can't achieve this level of power, however the Solaris fight was Silver's first time ever going super. So, the power level doesn't necessarily scale with the experience of the form usage.
Sonic "Power Creep"
"SEGA should make a Silver Generations where he beats Solaris in base"
It's no controversial statement to say that Sonic characters fluctuate in power between appearances, and when it comes to analysing their best output, this causes... issues. For this point in particular, it's that when the villians reappear in later games, they... get a lot weaker. Specicially, the super states Perfect Chaos and Metal Overlord, both of which required several super forms to beat at their best, would go on to be defeated by Sonic and Shadow... in their base forms.
So, can we say that Sonic base forms have surpassed the strengt of their super forms?
Nah.
In fact, I think both cases of this can be pretty easily explained away. Let's take a look at Perfect Chaos' Sonic Adventure battle, where he achieved this state by using solely the negative powers of the Chaos Emeralds, allowing Sonic to use the positive forces of them to defeat Chaos and purify him. Not only was Chaos working with only half the power of the emeralds here, but it was also the weaker set (since positive > negative emotions is a fairly consistent concept in Sonic). That also means Super Sonic was not working at full strength here, since he was running on half power.
Meanwhile, Metal Overlord didnt actually need three super forms to defeat, Tails and Knuckles simply joined Sonic in battle because they wanted to be absolutely certain they'd win. It was more of an "overkill just to be safe" strategy, and Sonic could have handled the fight by himself since the three forms were achieved with the same set of emeralds anyways.
Regardless, Sonic fighting someone in his super form doesn't instantly mean that they are as strong as it, it just means they're more powerful than his base form. And in that sense, I suppose the power creep idea works. For the sake of comparison, let's say that Sonic's power level in Heroes was 50, his super form was 200 and Metal Overlords was 60. Then, yeah, it'd make sense that years later Shadow would have a power level of 60 to match Metal Overlords, especially with his Doom Powers. (of course, I'm not implying this is actually the exact strengths of them, it's simply a metric to get my point across in an understandable way.)
hope I pleased the Sonic debaters this time
oh who am kidding
Multi+ Guilty Gear
That's right, just because we covered the Sonic side of things doesn't mean we're done yet. For a while now, Guilty Gear has made the rounds as a super powerful franchise with numerous multiversal characters, yet few people have actually made an effort to explain why. Some may say that's because it's obvious, but I say it's because they're cowards! So let Loka speak of it!
As I covered in the cosmology segment, Guilty Gear's cosmology is very understandably implied to be infinite in size and at the very least 4th Dimensional, and thus all of the Multi arguments come from characters being stated to be able to alter the entire cosmology.
SOL BADGUY
During the events of Guilty Gear Xrd -Relevator-, Sol refuses to activate his Dragon Install to fight St. Maximum / Ariels (The Universal Will), with the reason given being that it "could amplify the Information Flares". Information Flares refers to the event where a lot of information materialises within the Backyard at the same time, leading to an overflow in one specific area of it. Similar to a water balloon overflowing if extra water were to be added when its at max capacity, an overflow of information could rupture the space-time of the Backyard. Even if only temporary, even a minute disruption of the Backyard could cause combustion across all of space-time.
If this were to happen on a grand scale, it could rewrite the informational matter present in all things (such as turning dirt into steel), or cause the two informational bodies within the Backyard to coexist simultaneously, which would blurry the boundary separating the real world and the Backyard, erasing all of reality via the event known as the Absolute World.
If this was via one Information Flare, it could be chalked up to as a chain reaction, but Sol threatened all of them across an infinite number of timelines. Even if this was only doable through the Backyard, Sol would still have to have that amount of energy stored within him.
So yeah
Cosmology buster Sol Badguy.
I-NO
At the end of Guilty Gear Strive, I-No finally manages to merge with Happy Chaos and achieve her true, original state of being. In this form, she was capable of restarting the entire universe several times over and threatened to collapse the entire GG cosmology. We know this because of her origin, where she was literally segmented and ejected out of the Backyard because the Backyard itself considered her to be too powerful, holding the power to prevent the Backyard from collapsing. Like mentioned, Happy Chaos then took the other half of I-No until the two merged into her original state.
It is about as blatant as can go, I-No was directly stated to be able to prevent the collapse of and cause the Backyard to implode.
ELPHELT
Now, Elphelt herself. Her feat, much like Sol's, comes from Relevator. Well, it's more of a statement than anything else, said statement being that if she merged with Justice, then "the world's gonna end". The main conflict during Xrd Relevator follows the Universal Will's intent to merge Elphelt with Justice in order to inflict the Absolute World, allowing her to remould existence.
The Universal Will is insistent on it being Elphelt and Justice specifically merging, which makes sense. While Ramlethal was made to destroy humanity, Elphelt was explicitly a backup plan to kill Sol, meaning she was likely given the more power of the two. Justice holds a similar level of power to threaten the world, and the two of them can independently match Sol's strength, so it'd make sense that them merged together could threaten an event on this scale.
tldr; all multi+ GG feats hold up
dang I guess it was obvious huh
Immeasurable Guilty Gear
Normally I wouldn't make a section for speed, especially since immeasurable speed feats are kind of blatant most of the time, but for Guilty Gear in particular, it comes from two specific statements, both of which involve the characters "transcending" time. So, does transcending time equal to immeasurable speed?
I think so, yeah.
Simply put, the formula for calculating speed is "distance ÷ time = result", and removing the variable of time from this equation entirely simply renders it unusable. It's similar to feats preformed by the likes of the Flash family or, for the sake of a more fitting comparison, Archie's version of Sonic. While not the exact same type of feat, they all involve time being removed from the speed formula for, you guessed it, immeasurable speed.
Loka's Notes: Although I-No at her most powerful when merged with Happy Chaos is above most characters in the series, they were still able to fight her off and keep up with her speeds and reactions during the battle. Sol has also battled both I-No and Happy Chaos in the past, and Ramlethal scales to Nagoriyuki, who has a similar statement to I-No about transcending time. As Elphelt scales above Sol and Ram, she can be scaled to I-No.
Verdicts
Loka
Wait you've already read 90% of the blog that quip doesn't make sense-
Sonic and Guilty Gear. Two franchises that I was fairly vocal about not wanting to make another blog on... and there they both are in the same one. It was a total coincidence, I just wanted to put something out on Valentines Day, but it also kinda works as a send-off on my final words on these franchises VS wise.... at least until I decide to use them again because I'm quirky like that-
REGARDLESS, here's where we are for now. And that "here" is Amy vs Elphelt, a matchup between two characters I grew rather fond of during this research process, and now I get to talk about them killing each other. Always a fun time.
Looking at their stats side by side, El... kind of stomps Amy into oblivion, honestly. While I brought the Multi+ Sonic arguments up for the sake of putting it all on the table, they're not actually something I believe in, whereas Guilty Gear has gone out of its way several times to try and make theirs as blatant as possible. So its around 300 times Uni x infinitely Uni, and even if we stack dimensional tiering on top of that, Elphelt gets a whole spatial D higher than Amy. This is all giving her the benefit of the doubt with her Super forms too, as without them she truly has no way of even hoping to match El.
The forms invincibility and her large number of Rings, alongside various hax items, do give her a significant edge in durability and endurance. The numerous healing options she has on hand definitely allow her to keep up, even if they are a limited supply. Unfortunately however, she can't use her unlimited healing technique or immobilizing Amy Flash due to El's ability to shut down powers, meaning that her limited amount of items will eventually run dry.
And this is really bad for her due to the speed difference. I'm a little shaky on infinite to immeasurable Sonic, but even if I bought it, Elphelt matches it pretty handedly. And although Elphelt is definitely the less skilled of the two, her level of speed combined with the overbearing power and opening to not only shut down Amy's abilities, but also instantly incapacitate her via Magnum Wedding paint the picture fairly clearly.
Although Amy Rose to the occasion, Elphelt Rock and SteamRolled over any chance she had in this debate. The winner is Elphelt Valentine.
I'm gonna go and like
kiss my girlfriend now or something
Chris
And when the world brought him a Sonic debate, the warlock rose from his grave.
Hey all. It's me. Happy Valentine’s Day.
Getting the obvious out of the way first, Elphelt is obviously dominating in the power department. Doesn’t take a genius to realize the difference in mental gymnastics between their respective cosmologies, and Amy requires her super form in order to effectively scale to her full cosmology anyway.
In terms of speed, I'm a bit on the fence with the infinite/immeasurable stuff on both sides, but I think it sounds fair enough for Elphelt so I’ll assume it applies for Amy as well. Again, important to note, Amy can only reach this level of speed with her transformations, i don't really buy Night Palace.
But surely Amy isn’t completely outmatched here. She has access to so many random items and gimmicks she can pull, Elphelt doesn’t even have that many hax in comparison. She has what, flight, teleports, Yurification beam, power nullification-
Hold on what was that last one.
Elphelt can negate powers. The only restriction noted being that she needs to be stronger than her opponent. Which she is. So with Amy requiring a transformation to even reach anywhere near Elphelt in stats...
Well. I guess you could say I got that verdict quicker than you can do a tarot card reading. The winner is Elphelt Valentine.
Pit
Looking at the cards on the table for both characters, this ended up being a pretty amusing debate. Going into this, my expectations were always that Amy would be leagues more versatile but Elphelt’s stat advantage would be too much to overcome. What I didn’t expect was how layered that verdict would end up actually being.
Amy having a larger arsenal is no surprise but the list of abilities she has went a lot further than I anticipated just from thinking about it off the top of my head. Versatility matters only as much as your tendency to utilise it, so while stuff like Amy Flash is no doubt useful, it’s also an ability we only ever see in one game’s multiplayer mode that is so disconnected from canon that it’d be ridiculous to assume she’d ever reasonably win a fight off of that.
Tools like Amy’s tarot cards or moves she naturally breaks out throughout her journeys in the story have a lot more ground to stand on and in that respect, Amy does have some very notably strong options. Surprising to absolutely nobody, her super form is among these useful tools but being able to turn invisible, grant herself temporary invulnerability, slow Elphelt down or even force her to whiff attacks could be pretty game breaking…
if Elphelt didn’t just have the ability to shut those abilities down entirely.
If Elphelt is stronger than Amy, then she can shut down much of Amy’s magic based options… which makes up a very big percentage of her abilities. Keep in mind too, it’s not out of the question that this would extend to the Chaos Emeralds as well, given that Eggman was able to sap them dry of their power in Sonic Unleashed, so we know the Emeralds can at least be neutralised. As said before though, this does still require Elphelt to have a sizable enough advantage over Amy in magic power to do so. So… is she?
Let’s cover Amy first. Amy is very unquestionably on par with fellow mainstays of Sonic like… well, Sonic, as well as Tails, Knuckles, Silver, etc. Chaos Emeralds by themselves can move continents and even wipe out entire star clusters, which base form Sonic characters can compare to given they’ve ragdolled various Egg mechs running off of these power sources or being comparable to them. As a high-end for base forms, there’s Sonic Prime having Sonic be at the epicenter of an explosion that destroyed and altered the universe. Once we get into the super forms, things get a bit nutty.
The Chaos Emeralds and the Sol Emeralds alone threatened the destruction of two universes simply by being in the same one at the same time, and various end game bosses like Solaris and Time Eater threatened the destruction of entire timelines far beyond a single universe. Bare minimum, you would be looking at multiversal for this. So where does Elphelt lie?
Elphelt is much more direct in terms of her power- her merging with Justice would have deleted all of existence as we know it. This includes the Backyard: a universe containing an infinite amount of timelines, possibilities, outcomes, etc. So destroying this would’ve pretty much been Solaris on juice. This is further backed up by Elphelt being comparable to Ramlethal and more importantly, Sol Badguy, who also nearly destroyed the Backyard as a byproduct of activating Dragon Install. So, very blatantly multi+.
Even with generous estimations, base Amy gets steamrolled by Elphelt in raw power, which theoretically could be enough if you were to assume Elphelt could nullify the Chaos Emeralds and keep her from going super. Let’s say though that Amy was able to go super. She would still fall short of Elphelt in power, and being invulnerable would only do her so much good when she’s on a fast ticking timer… but she might have one more out.
Remember when I brought up Solaris threatening to destroy all timelines and universes and all that? If you wanted to be a funny guy, this could also include fourth dimensional space… like, literally, in Sonic Shuffle, there is just a board called Fourth Dimension Space, which was part of the Maginaryworld that that game’s antagonist Void threatened to destroy. Keep in mind as well, Void’s defeat did not come at the hands of the super forms. This was the base form show.
Now, is Fourth Dimension Space supposed to be taken literally? Very possibly no, and it’s not entirely helped by the method Void is defeated with not exactly being what you would call “traditional”. All the Sonic cast do is shine some lights on him until he drops to the floor. But let’s take this whole thing at face value, and for generosity’s sake, upscale from there to potentially 5D given that foes like Solaris or The End would absolutely curbstomp Void.
Even with this inhuman level of benefit of the doubt, Elphelt would still match that, if not beat it outright. The Underworld Hill located in the Backyard transcends time beyond even the Backyard. Furthermore, demi-humans such as Happy Chaos and Nagoriyuki exist above our own reality and have to downgrade their own forms to even manifest in normal space. Do I think it’s completely concrete? Not exactly, but I would definitely say it’s more believable than whatever the party game was snorting, and further proves Elphelt at bare minimum would match Amy in power.
Speed goes a similar way too. Guilty Gear doesn’t have as many notable speed feats as Sonic so with finite ends, Amy could possibly be faster but Elphelt has much more reasonable high-ends given the aforementioned transcendence of time for the demi-humans that Elphelt can keep pace with, vs Sonic running through an infinitely sized palace: much shakier since this doesn’t necessarily imply right away Sonic crossed the entire thing. Either way, Amy doesn’t have many instant win moves that don’t rely on being stronger so if she can’t overpower Elphelt, the most this would accomplish is delaying the inevitable.
To summarise, Amy has a bigger bag of tricks with several useful items and abilities at her disposal, but none of them can help overcome the sheer gap in power between her and Elphelt in base, nor is she strong enough to compensate for her super form’s time limit. With Elphelt being able to nullify her magical abilities as well, Amy’s options are severely limited, leaving Elphelt free to take home the gold. Elphelt shoots through her heart, and Amy’s too late, but at least they didn’t give love a bad name.
Soma
WOOOO yeah Amy vs Elphelt! Super fun matchup, very glad to be a part of this. Thanks again Loka!
With stats, I tend to lean towards the higher ends for both series, and both Amy and Elphelt should scale to the most impressive feats performed across the cast, as Loka has explained above. Cosmologically, there's 4D stuff with Void and Maginaryworld from Sonic Shuffle and the Underworld Hill in the Backyard, as well as Multi+/5D with Solaris being able to destroy all of existence, Sol in Dragon Install risking overloading all the information flares across infinite timelines and the Flame of Corruption + Scales of Juno being able to cause the Absolute World. Similarly, speed is in the same category, with Amy scaling to Solaris spreading its light across all timelines and Elphelt scaling through Sol to I-No, who transcended time when merged with Happy Chaos.
So both should be equal when it comes to stats, reaching Multi+/5D and Immeasurable. Now, we get into the fun part of how everything else stacks up against each other.
Despite having the body of an adult woman, Elphelt has been alive for much less time than Amy has, and hasn't been involved in as many large-scale conflicts. She's not dumb by any means, but her youth and naivety show Amy as the more intelligent and experienced combatant of the two. She's been a steadfast ally of Sonic's ever since their meeting on Little Planet, joining him for his adventures during the events of SA1, SA2, Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, 06, Unleashed, Frontiers and the Metal Virus incident in the comics, as well as growing into her role as the leader of the Resistance during the War to Take Back the Planet in Sonic Forces.
Adding in additional adventures like in Sonic the Fighters, the Riders trilogy and Chronicles just widens the gap between them, as Elphelt has only appeared in Xrd (technically 3 games here (Sign, Revelator and Rev 2) but it's just slight updates to the same story) and Strive. Moreover Amy is more directly skilled, having trained extensively with her hammer and in unarmed boxing, whilst Elphelt's raw power and firearms usually allows her to get by in most situations. Her Overdrives do show a fair amount of coordination of Elphelt's part, and definitely power. Neither will be without their weapons though, as both can summon them to their hands at any time.
Elphelt's handgun, explosive grenades and (literal) boombox are useful, but her weaponry really shines with Ms. Charlotte and Ms. Travailler, dealing much more devastating damage up close and from afar. Ms. Charlotte in particular is able to switch between a rifle, sword, club and microphone, and can charge up larger projectiles when in gun mode. Equally though, Amy's Piko Piko Hammer is extremely reliable (more so with the Long Hammer and Warrior Feather upgrades), and can create tornadoes, and she's got explosive bombs of her own. Amy also just has a 16 ton weight that she pulls out of nowhere???
And given her much longer game history, Amy's arsenal doesn't end there. She's got Tarot Cards she can use to see the future, curse her opponent and make them miss their attacks, attack them directly, gain Rings, steal their items, get extra air-time and deal loads of AOE damage. She's also got 2 cars and an Extreme Gear board which she can use to fly, kick up mini-tornadoes, and with the Ark of the Cosmos, she can manipulate gravity. Amy's also got mines, rolling bombs, energy shields, projectile boxing gloves, giant rockets, stars which mess with the foe's perception of direction, a horn which blasts everything around her, ice cannons, BEES, gloves to catch projectiles for Amy's own use and a rainbow which obstructs the target's view with blinding rainbow light.
Furthermore, there's the items she can use in Sonic Chronicles, with stand outs allowing her to revive herself from death once, infuse her attacks with ice, earth, lightning, water and wind, passively heal herself over time, nullify status effects, put up an invulnerable shield, induce fear in her enemies enough to make them flee, and she's got several different types of healing items. Then there's the Wisps which can boost her speed, send homing rockets at her foes, cover her in spikes, turn her into a black hole, grant her intangibility, block her enemies' vision and hearing, etc. Plus, there's also the Chao, which grant Amy even more elemental attacks (this time also including fire), 6 different types of shields, increase her health, make her more evasive, revive her if killed and potentially one-hit-KO her opponent.
Then there's her supply of up to 999 Rings which keep her from dying, even under the most extreme circumstances, like when base Sonic survived several attacks from The End, a Super-form level threat. And speaking of, Amy has the Chaos Emeralds, which can let her create dozens of clones, slow down time, and become the invincible Super Amy, which increases all her stats, lets her fly, and this is furthered with Hyper Amy and her infinite volley of Piko Piko Hammers and Hyper Flash screen wipe. Elphelt's only other form is her original state as a Valentine Gear, but she prefers her current identity, and even if she could return to that state, which is questionable, it's unlikely that she would want to do so.
As a Valentine Gear, Elphelt's stamina is greater than Amy's, not needing to rest, and her passive regenerative processes are natural, as opposed to Amy's passive item-based one. Whether or not it is more effective though is debatable. And although she cannot control her Valentine Radar Teleportation, nor does she know how it works, it could potentially kick in to teleport her. Additionally, Elphelt can fly, self-destruct with a massive explosion, nullify a weaker person's powers, as greater magical strength than another will allow you to do so.
And obviously Amy's got the Hedgehog special - super speed, spin dash, spin jump, homing attack, you know the drill. But she does have some stand out abilities of her own, like invisibility (minus her shadow (not that Shadow (
So now that I've yapped at you (for way too long, this got out of hand, sorry), how does the comparison line up?
Elphelt's weaponry is nothing to sneeze at, but Amy's own arsenal is much wider and more varied. They've both got massive fuck-off melee weapons, giant sound waves to blow enemies away, and explosive grenades, but Amy can deal various elemental damage, wider AOE damage and directly mess up Elphelt's attacks with her Tarot Cards. She can also steal Elphelt's weapons if she uses the Glove or lands the Lucky Draw Dark Card, and she can restore her Rings with the Hero Card. Elphelt's flight is matched by Super Amy, and can be countered by the Ark of the Cosmos' gravity control. And with the Rings saving her from fatal attacks, Elphelt will still have to get through Amy's number of shields she can pull out at any moment, and her two seperate ways of reviving herself from death if killed.
Amy likely wouldn't be able to mess with Elphelt's perceptions much with the Pocket Rainbow, Confusion Star, Spooky Charm or Magenta Rhythm, as being from the Backyard requires one to resist a constant assault on the mind, so they wouldn't have much effect. Conversely, Elphelt's Instant Kill forces the target to fall in love with her and be knocked out, so if Amy gets hit by it, she wouldn't be able to resist it without the Immunity Idol, as she doesn't naturally resist emotional manipulation. Even if it gets destroyed, her Angel Amulet and the Ovus Chao would be able to revive her though, so it wouldn't a game over. Elphelt's Power Nullification also wouldn't likely be able to work on Super Amy and de-power the Chaos Emeralds, given their equal strength, and the extra boost on top of that provided to her by Hyper Amy.
While Elphelt can continue without rest, Hedgehogs can hold their Super forms for extended periods of time, with Sonic being able to maintain his for multiple days at one point. The fight wouldn't go on for that long, but it's unlikely that Elphelt could easily exhaust and outlast Amy's Super forms, in addition to her shields, without actively trying to Power Null the Chaos Emeralds. There's also the Wisps, which can make any contact with Amy hazardous (Pink Spikes), impossible due to Jade Ghost's intangibility, or detrimental if caught in the Violet Void's black hole. Amy's invisibility would allow her to escape from danger if need her, her manual healing provides another avenue for quickly recovering her health, and the Amy Flash freezing Elphelt in place for 20 seconds would give Amy more than enough time to capitalise on her immobilisation, especially with her ability to create clones and slow down time (and possibly summon a Sonic clone? Still not very clear).
For Elphelt to win, she would need to be outright stronger than Amy, and able to use her power nullification. Given Amy's massive array of weapons, items and abilities, Elphelt would need to shut down everything Amy could do and take advantage once she's in a de-powered state, with no shields, no more revive items, and no rings, which is easier said than done, but with liberal use of her power null, she could do that, assuming she was stronger than Amy.
However, I've made my stance on the stats clear, and with a more even strength comparison, Elphelt's game-winning power null becomes a lot less useful. Quite frankly, not able to be used at all. Amy's various ways to power herself up would ensure the power null doesn't work once she's in Super, and her overwhelming offence would be very difficult for Elphelt to deal with, given her lack of defensive abilities, barring said power null. Amy's greater experience, skill and intelligence would let her know to start using her array of items and abilities if straight-forward power isn't working, countering Elphelt's flight with the Ark of the Cosmos, her healing with her own healing methods, and being able to take Elphelt's own weapons to use against her. There's also a chance the Spartoi Chao would just let Amy one-hit-KO Elphelt's outright, nabbing the win easily.
Elphelt would also have to break through Amy's layered defence of Pink Spike to protect her, Jade Ghost to become intangible, Glove to catch projectiles for herself, Dark Card to steal Elphelt's weapons, Replenisher and her Healing to recover health both passively and manually, Shield and the Zoah Shield to protect her, Angel Amulet and the Ovus Chao to revive her from death once each, her Rings to add another layer of protection, the Super form's invulnerability and then the increased stats she gets from Hyper Amy on top of that. As great as Elphelt is, it's one hell of a tall order, and she just doesn't have the necessary tools to be able to break through that.
So in the end, I think Amy Rose has everything she needs to hammer home this win. Her equal stats preventing Elphelt's power null, her own stat increases, overpowering offence and unbreakable, layered defence provide the perfect thorn in Elphelt's side. For Amy, everything's coming up roses! Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

First blog of the year, woohoo!!
Starting off with Strength, like I always do, Amy should be around the same level as Sonic, who in base was able to destroy a giant stalactite in his battle with Metal Sonic, which gets to around 200 kilotons of TNT. Some time before or after that I dunno, he destroyed chains around little planet, which gets to 3 teratons of TNT. Elphelt by comparison, was made to kill Sol Badguy, who's able to contain a micro black hole in his bare hand. That gets to... 0.5 FOE. Yeah base to base Elphelt is stronger, but adding in super forms? Yeah Elphelt should still be stronger I think, due to scaling to Sol. Super Amy, by proxy of being a chaos emerald empowered mobian, should be comparable to Solaris, who was going to just, destroy the entire Sonic cosmology, which thanks to Sonic Shuffle, gets up to 4D. However, Guilty Gear's cosmology gets to that and higher, and Sol Badguy should scale to all of it. And cuz of that, I'm giving strength to Elphelt.
Now for speed, Amy should reasonably be able to keep up with Sonic, or at the very least downscale. Sonic was able to get through a maze which grew and folded back on itself infinitely, which should get to FTL speeds. She should also be comparable to Metal Sonic, who flew from Little Planet to the Death Egg while heavily damaged in 12 seconds. This should get higher into FTL than the feat I mentioned previously. Now for Elphelt, she should scale to Slayer, who's able to launch people to another galaxy in a single hit, much faster than base Sonic and Metal Sonic's feats combined at 442 billion times lightspeed. Once again bringing in Super forms, just fighting Solaris any of them should get to immeasurable speeds, or at the very least much higher than Slayer's feat. However, by scaling Elphelt to a fusion between Happy Chaos and I-No, she should also get to immeasurable speeds, due to said fusion being stated to transcend time itself. Because both get immeasurable, I am giving this category a tie.
Moving on to durability, Amy is capable of taking hits from Sonic, who already did the aforementioned strength feats I mentioned. She should also be comparable to Shadow, who was able to destroy the Death Egg with a single chaos blast. And that thing can destroy stars and star systems with all of its different cannons! As for Elphelt, she should be capable of taking hits from Sol, who again did the feats I mentioned earlier. Eggman's Final Egg Blaster destroying a star system actually gets higher than Sol containing a micro black hole, so base to base Amy should be tougher. And this isn't even getting into the fact that super forms have invulnerability. With that alone, I believe Amy should take durability.
With Tertiary advantages, it would seem like Amy takes this easily, what with her immobilization, Ovus the Chao Angel Amulet granting two one-time revives, the immunity idol granting immunity to negative status effects, the confusion star and pocket rainbow messing with Elphelt's vision, and the Ark of the Cosmos being able to steal Elphelt's gravity. However, I am giving this category to Elphelt for one very important reason. Elphelt Valentine has shown the ability to nullify the powers of anybody weaker than her. So everything I mentioned Amy can do? No she can't, because she's not strong enough. This should even apply to the chaos emeralds!
So, I believe that in spite of Amy's durability, especially thanks to her super form, Elphelt Valentine, with her overwhelming strength and power nullification, should win this fight.
Sorry to break your heart, Amy. Ge- get it, cuz valenti-
